The super-cheapie models use Realtek AC97 2-channel drivers, while the multi channels use Realtex HD drivers. You can go direct to Realtek's website (google "realtek drivers" and go to their website.

Control Panel / System / hit the "hardware" tab, device manager, scroll down to "sound video and game controllers" hit the plus sign to the left, and your audio devices should be listed. The one with the yellow sign of doom is the problem device, and the name of the device is the one you want from Realtek.

Rather than let Windows search for it, I'd rather take it from Realtek, and run the install. Afterwards, burn it to a CD for use when you upgrade, or reinstall your OS.

That will happen sooner or later, so best be prepared.

Firstly, need to verify your unit uses a RealTek driver. Go to control panel, then system, then hardware, then device manager,

Look at the list and find sound, video and game controllers, click on + sign to expand, look for devices with ! marks, these are the ones with issues. They will either be unknown or state the wrong drivers are loaded. You can click on the device in question then right click to update drivers.

This will work only if you have the right drivers.

well wen u get the popup of driver signer says not digitally signed.click on continue anyway.that will install the driver anyway.and this shouls resolve it.

You should at least classify your problem by the RealTek chip you have. That's great you went into the Device Manager to check out the error number, but if you doubleclicked the yellow warning signs, it would explain you just haven't loaded a driver.

Either you told Windows not to accept the non-WHQL-signed driver, or you didn't install the driver. So install it from Device Manager by going into the details tabs and asking Windows to just find what's handy, or go to the maker's website and search for the appropriate driver. Install it.... Save your work since rebooting will be needed. Then adjust the mixer, set up microphones, listen to Mum (the band) etc.
