Sounds like an internal problem in the radio unit. Many Ford dealers have an echange program where you can turn in your old unit and get a remanufacured one to replace it. There is also the option of getting a used unit from a salvage yard, but many radio and stereo systems in cars now have programming which prevents them from working if it is placed into another vehicle. A used one will probably have to be reprogrammed to work in your car.

Although I do not recommend it, becase of serious electrical problems that are often caused due to sloppy installing and wiring, an aftermarket unit is also an option.
