It is getting stuck while refreshing the database.

Depending on the amount of the data or music files you have on your device, "Refreshing Database" may take a while to finish. But if you feel it's frozen you may try the following steps:
Reset the device 1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds. 2. Release the Power/Menu button. 3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player. NOTE: Resetting will turn the player off while it is frozen.
Delete recently loaded files 1. Connect the device to the PC in MSC mode using force MSC. 2. Locate and delete recently added files. 3. Disconnect the device from the PC.
If this resolves the issue, proceed to STEP 3. Otherwise, format the device, update to the latest firmware, and reload the songs to the device.

Everytime i try to add songs to myy sansa e250 the device refreshes the database what can i do?

Make sure they are all correct file format and that the tags don't contain weird symbols that the player might not recognize.

Refresh Database

Go ahead and do this, in case the DB is corrupted:
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Sansa e250 screen is stuck on refresh database

Press the "lock" button to where the Orange is showing. Then press the record button on the left side of the MP3 for a bit. Try this several times. I did it twice and it worked! M.P.

"Refresh Database" is not loading

You might be having some corruptions on the player's internal memory. This sometimes happens after you download a lot of songs to the player (that's what happened with mine). Try to format the player in your computer under MSC mode. To set your player to MSC, navigate the menu as follows: Menu > Settings > USB mode > ... This will give you the choice of "MTP" and "MSC". Select "MSC". 1. Plug your player to your computer. Your computer should recognize it as a "Removable Drive" and it will have a drive letter. 2. Right-click on the drive letter for your E250 and then select "Format" 3. When the Format window appears, make sure to select "FAT32" as the file system type and make sure that the "Quick Format" checkbox at the bottom section of that window remain un-checked. 4. Click "Start" and follow the on-screen prompts. 5. When the formatting is complete, simply re-download all songs to the player. I hope this works for you. There is another solution this may actually resolve that error you're having on the player. Let me know the results. :)

Stuck on refresh database screen

Hi tt, First, I would delete all the files in your Sansa>Music folder - you may have a corrupt or un-recognizable file that is stalling your "refresh". Check and see if your player refreshes correctly - if it does, update the firmware (see below). If this doesn't stop the problem, you may have to format your player - Windows Explorer>right click on Sansa Player>Format>make sure it is FAT32 and unclick "quick format">Start. You will lose all files that you have not backed up - but your player should start up correctly. Then, make sure that you have the latest firmware update - here is the place to get the updater: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376 - instructions are on the site. After the update, add the files again and see if the unit refreshes - if it does not - it's probably a bad file. The only thing you can do is to add the files singly (or in small batches) until you find the problem file - I hope that you do not need to go this far! Sandisk has fixed most of the software problems that folks encountered in the last six months - IF you keep you keep up with the firmware upgrades. BTW - I have had my Sansa e250 for two months and have had zero problems - I LOVE it! Hope this helps, Steve
