Question about Panasonic DVM63EH Mini DV Tape with memory chip

1 Answer

IEEE 1394 I've just purchased a PCIMCA firewire card for my laptop to use for capturing DV from my panasonic DV cam. XP recognises the card, then recognises the cam when I plug it in and according to device manager is "working properly". When I then try to capture in one of 4 video editing programs I've tried, I capture one frame and the programme freezes. Have tried the windows movie, video dub, + others. Any ideas? Thanks

I have a panasonic VHS DV60 tape. now ithe tape is torn. now i want to chane it from vhs to dvd. if there is any possible to change

There are many studios who might help you with service to convert the worn out tape after rectification to be converted - digitized/compressed.
Since this is a complex software you must try for the digital studio around your area.

I have panasonic handycam , i want to download my movie from tape to pc . i don't have software . i need free software

Start with a 1394 OCHI compliant firewire card,
Install it to your computer, then load some free video editing software or buy a version off ebay, etc. Powerful programs are available for under $100. Perhaps Roxio is a good place for you to start, because you could then write DVD's after you do your editing. Roxio will also 'see' your 1394 card and will allow you to 'digitize' your video.

Drop-out glitch with Fuji mini-DV tapes

Unfortunately, the outlook is grim. If you duped the tape and the dropouts still appear, the anomalies are regrettably on the master itself, or the DSR11 is malfunctioning.
To be sure, try the following: View the master tape on a different deck, if possible. If glitches vanish, problem solved. Connect the AV/RCA out to the input on whatever digital deck you're using, and capture as usual with FCP. (If you need assistance with this step, I'll be happy to walk you through or send you in the right direction) Optimally, for a Hi8 tape, you would capture using DV 60i settings.
If glitches still appear, try capturing audio and video in two separate occurrences, I.E. One capture for video only, and a second capture for audio only. Sync in final cut.
If that doesn't work, your other option is to send the tape out to a post production house/lab, and see if they can do it -  but if you've tried everything else and resorted to this option, the chances are slim that much can be done - Hi8 tapes are notoriously difficult to recover. Best of luck, and do let me know I can be of further assistance :)

Video8 tapes upload to computer

You need a capture card or firewire output in your camera (This is faster) these capture card bring a software also for editing. If firewire, there is Premier Pro for PC or Final Cut for MAc. Make sure you have the right output connector on your Camera.
