Question about Sony PlayStation 3 40GB System
My ps3 is working fine until the game goes to load or save, then it just freezes on those screens. this seems to be while the game is trying to interact with the hard drive. i have tried deleting certain things from the hard drive, including 2 cases of currupted data. is there any chance anyone knows whats wrong or what i should do about it? thanks
You can try to reformat the entire hard drive, or you can buy a new hard drive.
To reformat the drive, in the PS3 menu:
NOTE: This will erase everything you saved on the hard drive.
1) Go to the Settings menu, then select System Settings.
2) Select Format Utility, then select Format Hard Disk.
3) Select Quick Format
To replace the Hard Drive, buy any 2.5 inch notebook hard drive that has a serial ATA connection. Then remove the old hard drive from the left side of the PS3 and install the new hard drive.

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
