Question about Canon imageCLASS MF6550 All-In-One Laser Printer
We cleared a paper jam, printed off about 5 more copies, which printed good, then when we tried to print some a few minutes later, they printed blank.
I then put in a new cartridge the correct way.. we have had this machine for awhile now, almost 1 year. and have changed it several times before, successfully. But our copier is still printing off blank pages. I have tried the turning it off for 10 minutes.. opened and shut doors..
Please could anyone tell me something that might help..
I've tried everything before for months... unplugging, new cartridges, servicing, etc. I've always avoided jarring an electronic item, but hitting the front fixed it! A couple of open-palmed smacks above the paper drawer, and it printed this very page. Apparently, sometimes the cover over the laser sticks shut after replacing the print cartridge, or removing a paper jam. Sounds crazy, but smack it!

Okay heres what i found Out. Remove the 5 screws that hold the glass down. taking off the Glass (careful not to break the holders, Wiggles the ribbon that runs from the curcuit board to scanner, wiggle it so it gets good contact again, then put everything back together (you could do a test print) before putting in the screws, make sure the glass is in place.
I found out the ribbon didnt have good contact, even though the light was coming on, it wasnt getting the information to the laser.
so by doing this its started to work.
wish canon wound put something like non conductive grease or something before putting in the ribbons
have fun and good luck.

Just had this problem. After doing all the trouble shooting canon said and still not working . I looked at the shutter that covers the Laser Scanner unit and it was not moving. The covers job is to keep protect the scanner (mirror) while the toner cartridge is out of the printer. I had to take the sides off the printer and make sure the cover was moving freely

Sometime you have to just give the machine a good swift kick, I hit the machine on the side and it started to work. seem like something is sticking. possiblity its the shutter, everything seem to run fine no images on the paper.
so try to find the shutter, if you dont care then swiftly hit the machine. not a good idea, but "what the hey"
its works sometimes, "rambo did it"

You may need to prime the new cartridge by "charging it" if you go to printers/faxes menu then select "printing preferences" and clcik on the maintenance tab you should have the option to do this also to reset to default settings.
