My laptop wont turn on without a charger

If your laptop works fine while plugged in but stops working while unplugged it's likely that either your laptop battery is bad or your laptop is not charging the battery properly.

Below are steps that can be taken to help identify the cause of this issue. Leave power plugged in
Make sure the computer has been charging from the power plug for at least two hours before attempting to unplug it.
Remove and reconnect battery
In some situations the battery can become loose.
Removing it and then put it back into the laptop. Third-party utility
Use a third-party battery utility to determine the total capacity of the battery. For example, BatteryCare is a free software utility capable of doing this.
Replace battery or AC adapter If your computer is still in warranty we suggest skipping to the next step.
If the above steps have been completed, we suggest replacing the battery in the computer or AC adapter. In most situations it's a bad battery.
Hope this helps.

Computer AC/DC cable is bad not allowing the computer battery to charge

Verify that the AC/DC cable is not bad by removing the battery from the laptop and seeing if the computer can power on without the battery.

Battery is bad or old

If the power plug is good it's likely that your laptop battery is bad. If you're using a laptop with Microsoft Windows consider getting and installing BatteryCare on the computer to look at the total capacity of the battery.

Try leaving the laptop connected to the power with the battery inserted for at least two hours. If the battery still doesn't seem to charge, we suggest having the battery and the laptop serviced or repaired.

If the computer and battery is not in warranty we suggest replacing the battery as it's very likely that it is just a bad battery.

Battery charger board is bad

If the battery has been replaced or an alternate battery from an alternate identical laptop does not work in the computer, it is likely that the power or charger board within the laptop is bad. It's recommended that the laptop be sent in to be repaired.

Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop! I replaced my CMOS battery,I also bought a new laptop battery, The AC Adapter works [lights up when you plug it in] and when you press the laptop's power button, the 3 lights...

This was very keen of you to try. unfortunately, if you tried all of those things it is likely damaged to the power circuit on the motherboard itself.

This will require a tech to remove and replace it. This ranges in cost, but is usually $250-$400.

Best of Luck,

Compaq nx6325 laptop will not power up

Perhaps try taking the battery completely out of the laptop for 5-10 minutes and then replacing it and trying again. My Dell wouldn't work on battery alone but was fully charged and leaving the battery out for a while before replacing it worked for me. Also keep your eye on how much the battery charges. It may be a faulty AC adapter also. Best of luck.
