Question about Remote Controls
I have a Haier 32" TV in the same room as I do a 20" Vizio TV which I purchased to use as a TV/Computer monitor. When I push the Power on/off button on either of the remotes it controls both TV's (other buttons are affected such as volume , menu, etc.)
Is there any thing I can do? I do have electronic skills if I have to go inside the remote controls if that will help.I also understand that that may void any warranties.
Vizio 20" HDTV Model # VXL20L
Haier 32" HDTV Model # HLH326BB
I have this remote. But I don't know what you mean by control numbers? Do you mean codes? You can program it by holding down the code button till the red light stays on, then punch the button you want to program, tv or dvd, then press power till your machine comes on then press enter.

I have a solution but it is too much info for this tiny screen they have, and there is no support for photos. So, unfortunetly I have to send you to my photobucket account where I posted scanned pictures of the "Acual Manual" I hope the website doesn't get banned. Here are the five pages you'll need to set up your giant remote:

I had the same problem. The problem is strange and seems to be with the receiver in the TV and not the remote control. The reason I say this is that when this first happened my Samsung brand DVD could actually control the TV. This then also failed, but still works fine with the DVD player.
Anyway there is an even more bizarre fix to all this......
- Remove the batteries from your TV remote. - Press and hold the red (ON/OFF) button for at least 1 min. - Replace the batteries and hey presto!!
I know seems far fetched but I found it on the Samsung website and it does work.
