Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer
With water hammer arrestors in place at my clothes washer, there is still hammer that travels back to hot water heater. What is causing this?
The water hammer arrester installed at the washer is not large enough to suppress the water hammer you are experiencing. This could be due to the length of the pipe between the washer and the water heater or the number of turns in the pipe. Water hammer can occur at right angle turns. Install another arrester near the water heater or at a turn where you hear the hammer sound occur.

Testimonial: "I'll try near the heater where it is accessible to install the arrestor. Thank you."
