Question about Samsung Katalyst SGH-T739 Cellular Phone

Open Question

My wife's Katalyst got wet. I tried taking apart and cleaning what I can. And tried setting it in the sun for several hours to try to dry it out. I took out 4 screws from the back. But it doesn't seem to come apart.

No power after washing

Did you wash it with the seat off? Sounds like you got the relay wet, or fusebox wet.... take the seat off, let the bike set in the sun for a couple of hours....hopefully whatever you got wet will dry out and the bike will start.

If water gets into the mp3 player will it work again

In such cases, one should always pull out the batteries immediately, and dry the gadget as far as possible, use dryer, put under sun for several hours, etc.... until you are confirmed that it must have been dried, the try it... it may work.
and in case your gadget is on / u switch on while it is wet...the chips/circuit may get damaged...and it will need hard core repairing then...

My phone got wet

What you need is a way to dry out the inside of your phone. It may take several days or a week and then it still might not work.
I'd remove the battery, your network card and Sim card if you have one. Then place your phone in a bowl of white rice. With the phone completely covered by rice set it in a dry area, you might even want to place it where the sun can shine on the rice further helping the drying process.
If this doesn't work, I'd try blowing it out with a hair dryer set with the Heat OFF. Then try returning it to the rice bowl.
Good luck.

My wife washed her tracfone when it was on. I dried it by setting it in the sun after taking it apart. I get no lights on it. Is the battery bad, Sim or phone. What can I salvage? She has a years worth of...

If you take your mobile to an expert he ll do a general service by cleanign it with a solution. Most of the problem will be solved by doing this. Lick the polarity of the battery if you feel it then battery is good. Mostly water log wont affect the battery so give it for a general service to a known expert. It ll cost only $10 for tat. There is nothing to do with the SIM here. Hope this helps. Rate me if you like it!!

Razr V20 Camera Doesn't Open

There are a couple things that may be going on here:

1) Take it back to the carrier and see if they will replace it. Just tell them that the camera doesnt work. You dont need to volunteer that it was wet. They will be able to tell if they want to. If it was wet, your warranty is voided and they dont have to replace it.

2) rain has parts of dust and dirt in it. Drying the phone in the sun would have left that dirt behind and it could be on the connectors where the phone's main board meets the camera. The only fix for this would be to take the phone apart and try to clean the phone with rubbing alcohol QTip.

3) The battery, when it got wet sent a surge and short circuited the camera.

4) This is definitely a hardware issue and not a software issue. Here is a solution from another expert on this site: https://www.fixya.com/secure/support/t124873-camera_says_unable_open_camera,

If you are not comfortable taking the phone apart, then dont.

Clicking ignitors

Take a hair dryer and dry the spark switches located on the end of each gas valve.
Sometimes when cleaning they get wet and do the clicking thing.
If that does not correct the problem you will have to replace the bad switch.

I droped my nokia 6300 in water

I have a phone that got wet, not totally submerged though and was able to get it working again. I took the phone apart and using alcohol cleaned anything that looked like it could be corroded. Keep in mind that the circuit board is extremely delicate and unless you are accustomed to working with electronics I would stay away from touching the board. The most important thing is to take it apart to allow the nooks and crannies to dry out. I have had friends do that and only that and got them working again. Get the phone apart and blow dry, let sit, blow dry, let sit etc... If you have a dehumidifier you can set the phone near it to help it dry. Do this for several days to a week and then, only then give it another try. If you didn't fry anything already this might work.

I accidentally washed my LG VX5300, please help.

When electronics get wet, they MUST be taken apart as soon as possible and dried out. It probably has some wet areas inside that may have fried some connections. Water or corrosion by the water have short circuited something inside. There is still hope I hope to either take it apart and inspect and clean the corrosion off of all electronics or take it to an electronics shop and get them to do it.

Wet dash

There's still water in it. You'll need to take the battery out and let it dry another two days. I got my phone wet one time and it took a week before it worked again.
