I have the same Zen, and everything works great, and love it to bits..BUT...i cant seem to transfer movies to it. I managed to transfer a couple of music vids, and that went fine, tried a larger music vid (Metallica- One) and it would crash my laptop. Tried your soulution from above (going to and HEY PRESTO! It worked fine. Tried a movie (700mb) and laptop crashed again at 20% transfered, and again, and again...seems my laptyop can´t take the transfering of larger media. Any more help??? PS: My laptop is an Acer 3000 from 2006.

The zen man need a full charge... if you have an ac adapter plug it in for at least eight hours. if you don't have an ac adapter plug it in via USB to a DESKTOP computer (not laptop) and try to use a differnt usb cord (creative doesn't always include a powerful enough cord to get the zen out of that low power state)

You don't loose all your music if you reset it.

refer to and look up info on your model to see if anyone else has your issue.

if it is totally busted your player is still under warranty

Creative Zen M:vision - can't turn on/off, permanent blue light

Well, i didn't charge mine over night, was listening to it in the evening while doing some chores and all of a sudden it stopped playing, Blank screen and permanent Blue light. I tried to turn if off but it didn't respond so i left it. In the morning, it went off itself (guess the battery was low). So i connected to the computer and inserted the ZEN CD. As i was exploring the CD looking for a solution, then all of a sudden the screen came up with a note "Rebuilding..." after 5 secs it came on. With all my files intact! I hope this wud be helpful, You could give it a shot, after all there's nothing to loose!

Zen frozen on one screen even after I've restarted it.

hard drive sounds bad. has it been dropped?
try to do a cleanup
  1. Detach the Zen player from your PC , and ensure that the Zen Sleek is turned off.
2. Connect the power supply to the player.
3. Hold down the Play/Pause button while inserting a paper clip into the Reset hole
underneath your player, beside the data/power connector. Keep on holding the
Play/Pause button while you release the Reset button. The Rescue Mode screen will
then appear.
4. After the recovery mode has started, release the Play/Pause button

It will display the following options.

Does not affect music files themselves.
