I have a Kodak c530. The battery door is broken. Company will send new door free with $15.00 handling fee. Can you guide me when i am replacing it? The part will not come with instructions. thank you.

- THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR WHAT SEEMS LIKE A SIMLE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. I BELIEVE MY HUSBAND HAS A CROSS POINT JEWELER'S SCREWDRIVER. NOW I CAN ENJOY MY CHEAP BUT NICE DIGITAL CAMERA AGAIN. SHERYL YOFFE

- I AM GLAD YOU CONTINUED YOUR INFO. IT LOOKS LIKE ONE COULD JUST SOMEHOW GET THE PIN OUT AS ON A WATCH BAND WITHOUT TAKING THE WHOLE CAMERA APART. BUT NOW I UNDERSTAND THAT IS NOT AN OPTION. ANY OTHER TIPS? SY

Yes, While I have not had that model in my hands, I just started working on a C330. It looks very similar and it is not hard to replace the battery door. You will need a small cross point screw driver. One of the Dollar type stores or Odd Lots type place will have those cheap sets of 6 'jewler' screwdrivers.

- You are welcome. The C330 I took apart had 6 screws holding the covers together. The back cover comes off in one piece, start at the bottom to separate them. The top section has clips to hold the two covers together. push on the back cover edge to undo the clips. The battery door has a pin to hold it in place. There is a small spring on the pin that will be loose.

I have the 530, You have to remove the 6 screws holding the covers together. The back cover comes off in one piece, you also have to remove the front cover too (which is held with 2 inner screws, you better use a magnitized screwdriver) please use caution not to disturb the inner board and parts.
Then use a thumb tack to push the holding pin completely thru(watch the spring so not to lose it) remove old door replace with new door, remember to replace the spring before pushing the pin and door back in place.....
Good luck, this can be frustrating if you dont have the right tools, and patience!
