Hi
What you ask is possible but depends where you are in the world as regulations vary. Basic say the feed cable must be large enough to carry the full current of the plug socket and fused accordingly.where you branch off to the light you fit a fused spur unit or slave mains where you can change the fuse capacity and cable size according to light requirements. But electricity is dangerous and best left to qualified tradespersons.

How do I hook this light switch up?

Your goal is to install this switch in the line that is providing power to light or will be. Most switches should have two screws, and should be installed in the line that is hot ( black wire or verify with meter)! With power removed to the line you would cut the line stripping back some insulation and now have two black wires that are stripped. One wire (copper ) installs on each screw. Remember to attach wires so when you make the screw tight you will wind wire clockwise.
The "On" should be up.

Utilitech #73189 installation

Utilitec 73189 is ordinary 120Volt fluorescent light.
Where are you installing this light?
Are you wanting to hardwire this light so it connects directly to a switch?

Does the light have a plug-in cord?
Or do you want instructions how to wire a plug-in cord to the light? And then install small rotary line switch on the cord.

I would buy a cheap extension cord that already has ends. And buy rotary line switch that fits the cord.
Then cut off one end of extension cord so it will plug into outlet.
Install the line switch onto the cord.
Connect the cut-end of extension cord to light fixture, black-to-black white-to-white-green-to-green.

Add a comment and include more detail.

How do I put a light switch on a extetion cord

You want a light switch on extension cord.
What kind of light switch do you have? You posted under GFCI device which is totally different than ordinary wall switch.
And what type of extension cord?
Add a comment with more information.

If ordinary light switch is installed on 3-wire outdoor extension cord:
Slice open the side of cord and you see 3 wires: black, white and green.
Cut the black wire in half and connect each end to brass screw on light switch.

If ordinary light switch is install on indoor 2-wire extension cord.
Look at plug and notice there is a wide blade and narrow blade.
Narrow blade is hot. You want the wire connected to narrow blade.
Cut that wire in half, but do not cut other wire.
Connect each end of wire to brass screw on light switch

If you want to install line switch onto indoor 2-wire extension cord:
Narrow blade is connected to hot wire.
Cut that wire in half, but do not cut other wire.
Open line switch.
Connect each end of black wire to brass screw. OR if no screws, then place cut wire in open grooves.
Tuck other wire into groove and then reassemble switch.

I have 5 Hampton Bay ceiling fans originally installed in my 2001 home. 3 have light kits and work great. I am trying to install lights on the remaining 2 but get no power. The 2 wires (blue and white)...

The supply power to the fan from the house should be HOT 24 / 7. The two lines going to the fan normally have wire nuts for connecting the leads on the fan to the house power supply line and the house common line. You want to tie the blue line on the light into the same wire nut that goes to the Fan switch. White is COMMON. Just add the lights COMMON (White) line to the wire nut that has the other two white lines in it. The blue goes to the Power line from the house. Add it to the BLACK (HOT) lines wire nut that has the fans wire in it. Use your meter to be sure of what color is common and witch is hot. If you have any trouble, let me know in detail what all the colors are from the house, fan and light. I'll put it in order for you. thank you. Please vote. Roger

No power at all. what and how to check

Unplug everything but the motherboard and front panel connections. Remove any cards (even the video card) and ram and see if the system comes up (you should hear error beeps and get lights). Install the ram next and retry if the power is up. At the point where the disappears you have found the bad component/ device. If no power lights with everything disconnected but the processor the power supply is bad or mother board is bad. The switch on the power supply is set for your line voltage correct?

Installing driving lights on my non-driving light 1999 Jeep

Here is what you need to get. You need to buy a 30 amp circuit breaker. Tap your power supply and install the two terminal 30 map breaker in to the power wire. This will protect your switch if the wire should short out for some reason. One side of the hot line goes to the switch. The other side of the switch needs a wire going to the lights that share a common power supply line. The two lines that are your ground lines from the lights will link together and ground them to the metal body or frame somewhere. Then you are good to go. You should be able to purchase a 30 amp ciecuit breaker at just about any parts supplier cheaply. They are very small and made out of tin on the outside. It should not cost you over $ 5.00 to purchase. Good luck.

Wireless phone extension not working on receiver. Red light and horrible sound hen connection is attempted

You need to register the unit it will work:
1.
Make sure the Base Unit is switched on and has a Green light showing.
2. Unplug everything connected to the Base Unit sockets (you will reconnect them later).
3. Plug the Extension Unit into a power point near the Base Unit, switch on the power and watch the light on the Extension Unit.
4. If the light on the Extension Unit is not glowing a steady Red then the Extension Unit must first be deregistered. Follow Step A and Step B in
the Deregistering an Extension Unit box below then try to register the Extension Unit again.
5. Plug one end of a supplied line cord into to either socket on the Base Unit and plug the other end into the extra Extension Unit
(This cord is used to do the actual registering).
6. The light on the Extension Unit will glow Red for up to a minute and then change to Green or Yellow.
7. Once you have the Green or Yellow light on the Extension Unit, unplug the line cord between the Base Unit and the Extension Unit
(You can unplug the Extension Unit – it will remember being registered).
8. Plug in everything that used to be connected to the Base Unit sockets.
9. Install the extra Extension Unit as per the Extension Unit Installation steps on the other side of this page.
