Question about Ovens
It is possible the knob is slipping round and not turning the spindle of the switch, or the spindle is broken inside the switch, or the switch is partially seized up.
Pull the kjnob off the switch, and try turning it on wioth pair of pliers or grips, if that works, then the switch is probably o/k.
Also spray some WD40 onto the switch spindle, and inside the switch.
