How do you defrost freezer of Kenmore refrigerator?

If it is a frost free model, the defrost timer could be stalled in defrost. Other than that the thermostat could be the problem.

Either the Defrost timer,Defrost element,or Defrost thermostat is bad.

defrost problem. advance defrost timer to defrost (till it shuts off) . remove freezer panel, check voltage and amps to heater,if heater is hot, replace timer, if heater is cold and no voltage, replace defrost limit switch. defrost all ice, carefully! with hair dryer, no poking with screwdriver.

you have to defrost the freezer part and drain tube in the freezer,a hair dryer works well,if after you defrost it and freezes again its your defrost timer,make sure its fully defrosted first before buying the defrost timer

check the freezer coil if frosted over then you have a defrosting problem, either the heater the defrost thermastat or the defrost timer is bad also is the freezer fan running?
