Husqvarna chain saw Model 141 running at high rpm's

Model 141, after moderate time cutting, approx 20 minutes, the saw will start running at very high rpm's and will not shut off using the off-on switch- must use the choke and choke it down to get it to stop.

You may wnat to inspect the intake manifold/boot that mounts inbetween the cylinder and the carb. Also, the impulse tube that comes from the bottom of the cylinder to the carb manifold or carb itself. Sounds like you are running a lean condition. You need to locate the source very quickly, or continued operation will permantly damage the saw. I have listed a few other things to check.
Please let me know what you find. rwvanlue

Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled (black and carbon deposits)
b) is there spark

2) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated
3) Check cylinder compression

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

How do i adjust the metering arm in the carb of a model 141 husqvarna chain saw

All adjustments made to the fuel are screw adjusted, three screws are low ideal, high ideal, throttle stop. A flat he'd screw driver should do.

My Homelite ZR10926 16-Inch 33cc Ranger it is starting, idling, it dies when I accelerate it. I assume is the carburetor, maybe ? thank you.

It probably is not getting enough fuel. Check the filter in the tank. If it has been sitting with stale gass this filter plugs up.
Try running the engine with some choke. If this helps, try adjusting the carburetor high speed screw.

I have a husqvarna 141, I can start it and it will fast idle. When i kick the high idle down it stalls.

Remember taht when you start to cut you need to pull back (towards you) the upper handle this will automate the full trigger for logging.

Saw cuts in circles

Take it to a local saw shop $10± for 20". It will save you time and headaches. Consider purchase of a spare chain or 2 (about 5 minutes to fabricate with yours as a sample). Ask about a more aggressive chain if you wear PPE while cutting. HTH

Husqvarna 14' Model 141 Chain Saw

THE IMPULSE LINE FROM THE CARB TO THE CRANKCASE HAS POSS FAILED, CHECK THE FUEL LINES FOR CRACKS AND PINHOLES, MAKE SURE THE INLET SCREEN INSIDE THE CARB IS NOT BLOCKED, WORSE CASE CENARIO THE ENGINE HAS A BLOWN CRANK SEAL CAUSING THE ENGINE TO RUN VERY LEAN WHICH WILL IN TIME "COOK" THE SAWS RECIPROCATIONG PARTS. AS FOR THE SWITCH ISSUE THE SWITCH ITSELF IS PROB BAD OR THE WIRING HAS COME UNPLUGGED OR IS DAMAGED......GOOD LUCK!

Cuts out on high revs 240 chain saw

Many saws made today are using electronics for engine control. If the engine rpm's starts to rev to high, the electronics in the coil will start to 'cut out' some of the spark. This is normal in this senerio.

But, now the real problem causing the senerio;

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
5) replace gaskets/diaphragms
b) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb

I have a newer model Husquarna chainsaw. When I give it extra gas it stalls in the sweet spot. If I give it max gas it cuts off. When I try to saw it wants to cut off also. I changed the gas and tried that...

You need to set the mixtures for the carburetor. You will find a Low and High adjustment screw. At idle turn the screw in or clockwise until the rps starts to decrease. Then start turning it out till you hit max idle rpms. Turn screw back in a quarter to half turn and it should be idling smoothly. Be careful here and get someone to hold saw if necessary but hold in throttle to full speed and do the same with high adjustment screw. turn it in till rpm starts to drop then back it out until you get to max rpm and it won't go any higher then turn it back in a half a turn. If you have to change the high rpm jet a lot you might have to go back and readjust the low rpm jet again and set the idle speed. Never idle it high enough that the chain turns while at idle.

We used to have to do this a lot in timber business. You go up on the mountain to cut logs and the altitude has high enough that you had to adjust carburetor and then do it again when you got back to the sawmill.

Husqvarna chain saw starts and runs for 20 minutes then stops.

two things could be happening.......first is vapor lock......make sure you breather tube is clear and working........next is ....it could have a bad ignition coil on it.....after the coil gets hot the spark can become irratic or just not work any more.....
