the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Have you tried to use XP mode in Windows 7? In Windows 7 you can install XP mode and attempt to run the software from the virtualized environment. For the download for XP mode on Windows 7, go to this website: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

Another thought that I have is that in Windows 7 - have you searched for an updated signed driver for your sound card? Depending on the model of computer you own - you can usually find the signed drivers at the manufacturers support website. Sometimes, changing the driver you are using for your sound card can also effect how your sound interfaces with different programs.

I hope this bit of information helps!

VGA ONLY ONBOARD

This is the driver for your card:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_96.85_2.html
It seems to be compatable up to Windows Vista so, it may, or, may not be compatable with Windows 7. If you are trying to get a driver for Windows Vista or earlier, this should work for you. Make sure you uninstall any prior driver before downloading this. If you have Windows 7 or are thinking about getting it, you can run the upgrade advisor here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor
to see if your system and card are compatable with Windows 7.

My computer is vista but upgraded to windows seven and the built in sound card does not seem to work i have tried different devices and updating the drivers i even changed the sound card none of them seem...

if even the Windows 7 driver for the sound card did not fix it, try to uninstall the audio driver, then let Windows try to detect and install a native driver if available. Then click START, type services.msc in the Search box, then click Services.msc from the results. From there, look for the Windows Audio service, double-click it and make sure the Startup Type is set to Automatic and click the Start button. Restart the computer, open the audio properties, make sure the correct Playback device is selected. If you are using internal speakers for a laptop or external speakers for desktops, select Speakers/Headphones, click Set Default. Then test the audio of your system. Hope this helps.

Is your Dell Sound Blaster compatable with windows 7? Check at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx to be sure. There may be special instruction there ... also, check with Dell to see if they have a windows 7 driver for your system.

Try downloading CCleaner, which is free utility that will clean out all your temp files and also scan your registry for issues.

When a program is uninstalled, such as Kaspersky anti-virus, not all registry components are cleared out.

This is particularly the case if the program was a 30 day trial.

The registry retains details of the original installation to prevent consecutive 30 day trials.

CCleaner should clean it out. Run the Registry Issues component until it reports no issues found and then try your install again.

Yes and No. Let me explain. You have taken an older board that worked with XP and tried to make it work in Win7 (which is not supported by the board). Add in your graphics card switch, and you have a real mess.

You can upgrade your motherboard (for one that is compatible with Win7 - (ie. a brand new model with Win7 certification) and use a graphics card that is also Win7 compatible, or

Go back to a configuration that worked

I'm thinking about upgrading to Windows 7. What should I know before I do it? Is it just to install and use at once, like upgrading any other programme? Thanks in advance.

If you have a legal copy of Vista, then you can install and upgrade in place. Otherwise, you have to save all your documents and files, format your C: drive, and install from scratch.
