Question about Maxtor Hard Drive
Reboot your computer with the drive attached, You need to get into your bios settings by pressing the F8 key while windows is booting. Look for the hard drive in your bios, see if it there. Don't change any settings in the bios if you don't know what you are doing. If you are unable to find it there, change where you connect it & re-boot & do the same thing again with the bios. If your drive is found, it's your usb outlet. Possibly your drive is bad or you may need to download the firmware for your drive from Maxtor website.
Good luck, hope this helps.
