Ceiling rose nt working

Hi i wonder if you can solve this problem.... my friend decided to change her ceiling rose, turned off the circuit ,undone the wires and pulled off the ceiling rose.... when she went to replace the new one, she found to have 3 black wires, 4 earths, and one red, nothing was labeled, we have established that the red is a switch line, as we attached a tester, one probe on the earth and the other on the red wire, when the switch was operated in the on position the tester lite up and buzzed, when switched off it did not operate, that how we established it was a switch line. the remainder are all the same colour... how will we be able to test which wire is what

What is a ceiling ROSE? Are you speaking of a ceiling fan? If so does it have a light kit on it? Larry

Look for the manufacturer's wiring on line or if the product is still available ask a merchant to permit you to copy the schematic from a similar product as yours. If they want future or continued service to you they will most likely accommodate you.
If that does not work, have a certified electrician look at it to sort out the three black and four earth wires.

Wiring a 2 gang light switch

Okaaay, but which is the permanent live from the lighting circuit, which is the switched live back to the ceiling light, which is the neutral from the lighting circuit?
You may need to open the ceiling rose to see how the red/yellow/blue are wired.
On the switch the terminals are usually diagonal, ie L on the top matches with L1 and L2 on the bottom. L1 and L2 on the top match with L on the bottom.
So you want permanent live from the lighting circuit to go to L and a short piece of wire linking that to the other L.
One of the L1 is switched live back to the lighting circuit.
Other L1 is switched live to the cabinet light. (Red?)
Presumably you also need to connect the neutral from the lighting circuit to the neutral to the cabinet light. (Black?)

I want to add a light in my room which is apart of the upstairs lighting circuit. The only problem that I have is that all the terminals within the celling roses in the upstairs lighting circuit are being...

The problem is that you need to understand that the red and black wires may not be power and return. The main red line is broken at a point and a new cable run to the light ( red + black) or (blue+ brown) this is merely the switch circuit fore that light. So if you mistake the two points it may be that what you have is red+red to your globe. ( Is that clear?) you would need to find the common black + the red to take power to the Red+black to your new ceiling rose, but breaking the now new red wire somewhere and joining in a new red_+ black that goes down to the switch

Use a power checking device as sometimes in some roses where multiple circuitsw feed fom Black and Black can be live

Will not come on, pops then blinks 8 times

what a wonderful day it is my friend. you have a high voltage problem. high voltage problems happen when high voltage reaches the x-ray protection circuit and shuts the chassis down.the problem could be an open or change in capacitance of the bypass cap or a defective high voltage output transformer(ihvt). also check the horizontal output and flyback for defective circuits. i hope this help solve your proble. this is definitely a job for a service tech because you will be dealing with very high and dangerous voltages. please rate my solution, and thank you friend.

My Viking Rose embroidery unit gets stuck. It attaches okay but when it goes through the test the sliding bar on the unit stop about midway through and makes a noise. The machine works great other wise.

That is something you have to take to a dealer for service, It could be one of the stepper motors in the unit has gone bad, possibly a circuit board or something a simple as a pin has fall into the unit. If you decide to take the covers off to inspect it yourself just don't force anything, The gears inside can only withstand about 8 pounds of pressure before they break.

Wiring a ceiling pull switch

The pull switch can be wired in line at the required position by removing the outer insulation on the cable sufficiently to allow for the intended live conductor to be cut and one end connected the switch in terminal and the other to the out terminal.

Make sure that the cable is not live or connected to the supply in any way while you are working on Please remember to rate this

Age problem

Since you have the answer, the easiest way to work with this is to work with real numbers and break it down. What are the knowns?
Rose + 25 = Dad
10 + 25 = 35 (today)
5 years ago, Dad (then 30) was 2x old as Rose will be 5 years from now (+5), or (30/2) -5 = 10

You can also put this into formulas
Rose + 25 = Dad
Dad - 5 = 2 * (Rose + 5)

So, if Dad = Rose + 25, you can substitute one for the other in the 2nd formula, like so:

(Rose + 25) - 5 = 2 * (Rose + 5)
Rose + 20 = 2 * (Rose + 5)
Now, you can solve for Rose and eventually come up with 10

I hope this helps.
