Check your ISO setting and your "exposure compensation" setting. ISO is best on "auto ISO" and exposure is best set to "0".

Why do iPads etc have unreadable screens in sunlight

its because of technical reasons:
Reading the iPad under sunlight exposure will be more acceptable if you adjust iPad application font size to make larger it than average and increase screen brightness all the way up, then it's more easy to read.
- the latest iPad Air2 has an improved display and in the near future there will be less problems with reading in sunlight in new iPads coming....

Does exposure to direct sunlight affect leather beds?

Leather beds, just like fabric beds, are not immune to the fading effect of direct sunlight. Even if you bought a quality leather bed you should avoid exposing it to direct sunlight in order to properly maintain the bed.

We have a sunroom at the back of our house and it would be the perfect place to put a billiard table. Will the table be affected at all by the sun?

I strongly suggest you find somewhere else for your billiard table. Continuous exposure to sunlight can be extremely damaging to your table. Sunlight will cause the cloth to fade and may also bleach the finish on the table.

The picture becomes white when it is clicked in sunlight.

Depending on your camera type and settings this could have happened in a number of ways. Offhand I would say you have set the ISO (sensitivity) to a high level . Another setting is the manual exposure boost maybe you stepped up the exposure to +2 instead of zero.

Thank you for rating fixya answers.

Overexposed photos on a nikon D60 in sunlight

You could set the white balance to the full sun setting. You could set the ISO to a lower number. You could set the "exposure compensation" to a lower number.

My gs500s colors are bright pink and i tried changing white balance and nothing works

Try going into "reset" master mode. otherwise you need to make sure your camera is shooting on the right setting for the light you are using. For example, when shooting in daylight with interior light setting (approx. 3200k) your photos will look off color and yellow or pink because sunlight is 5600k approx.,. . . contrary while shooting indoors with incandescant lighting if the camera is set for sunlight exposure (5600k) the picture will look blue. Make sure you read the manual on how to white balace, but first take the camera out of AutoExposure settings to do all the settings manually. Auto focus and auto exposure are for rookies and these types of errors will happen. Always try to do manual iris and manual focus for best results zoom in and get your focus on the subjects eyes then zoom out and frame up your shot.

Hello have a low light setting on my AG-DVX100BP that wont allow the video to show?

Hit the iris button on the side of the camera, then use the dial to dial the iris into an open position and let more light in. Know that the higher the number, the less light coming in, so 16 is just below closed iris, 2.8 is just before completely open iris. The iris is like the pupil of your eye. You should always be in manual iris to control the iris with the iris dial, keeping the video between 4.0 and 6 usually gives you the best exposure (not too hot or too low light.)

You also may have a neutral density filter on. You should only apply this switch if there is too much sunlight. Use nd 1/8th for moderate sunlight, nd 1/64th for bright sunlight. Then adjust the iris with the dial again to get the best picture exposure.

I have a Z612 which will seems to overexpose outdoor sunlight pictures. Video is ok, indoor flach pics ok. I think the problem was caused checked luggage being slammed around. Any ideas?

Many cameras have an exposure adjustment of increasing/decreasing amount of exposure (usually marked as -/+) Yours is probable set with to much overexposure. This is a setting you can change.

Outdoor snap is full white

It really sounds like an exposure setting. Check the manual exposure, it will use that setting when not in auto mode.

It's probably a faulty shutter. Take a look at my blog post to a possible solution.
