I have waves on my screen, what do I need to do to get rid of them?

you don't say whether your monitor is crt/tft....

either type the problem is likely to be refresh rate of the monitor...

try this... (xp pro sp2)

  1. Open Display in Control Panel.
  2. On the Settings tab, click Advanced.
  3. On the Monitor tab, in the Refresh Frequency list, click a new refresh rate
  • To open Display, click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display.
  • The default refresh frequency setting is 100 Hertz, although your monitor may support a higher setting. Check your manufacturer's documentation for information regarding the settings your monitor supports.
  • A higher refresh frequency reduces any flicker on your screen, but choosing a setting that is too high for your monitor can make your display unusable and cause damage to your hardware.
  • Changes to the refresh frequency affect all users that log on to the computer.
good luck, rate if useful please

WHAT TYPE OF MONITORS WILL REPLACE THE HP A4331D UNIT?

You need to know what frequency the computer is outputing. That monitor will take a wide variety of inputs. And, your application can change the output as well. You can check the two links I provided, and HP will have some recomendations, possibly pricey, but they'll work.

Some multisync monitors will display the input frequency is when it comes on. Try connecting the monitor when the application is running, and when it's just on but idle. If it has a menu screen (monitor), open that and some have the current frequency being used listed. With those two ranges, you should have a starting point.

Monitor displays Msg. frequency out of range, screen is black

Start your computer and press the F8 when the manufacturer's logo screen is showing. This will bring you to the Windows startup menu. Pick "start in VGA mode" and windows will start up with video settings you monitor can handle. Then you can change your video settings so Windows will start normally with your monitor.

X2gen 19 inch monitor

It sounds like a heat problem in the monitor. It could also be a computer graphics problem. Leave either the computer or the monitor on for a while and then turn on the other device. try to discover which is needing to be warmed up. The buzzing and problems with the other RF devices around mean that the monitor or computer is emitting frequencies so it will affect the TV and maybe the computer. I found my computer emits these frequencies. I can't listen to AM radio when the computer is on.

Monitor installtion

Hi Robin,

Hope this instruction well do solve like I met some problem like this. Try to reset the monitors setting manually in OSD (on screen display) mode. Look for frequency settings start at lower and have test it all. Respectively try to configure the video card frequency settings at Operating System GUID (Graphics user interface display) video card setting properties. Start from lower frequency and notice the each changes. When perfectly proportionate select Apply settings.

Best regards,
Rosener Guyano
