Xbox 360 door tray off track and will not close

First, do not attempt to try to fix it right away. Unplug every cable and adapter, so you only have the xbox 360 console. Then, if a video game disc is still in there, take it out. Next, try to determine what your disc tray is stuck on, and try to remove it carefully. If these steps do not work, look at these articles. 6. The disc tray should pop out slightly. Pull the tray out the rest of the way with your fingers.

Note If a disc is in the tray, make sure that it is not sticky and does not have a label that might prevent the tray from opening again in the future.

Tray won't close

Use the following steps to close the disc tray on an original Xbox 360 console.
Step 1: Remove the disc from the tray Step 2: Make sure the faceplate is on correctly
The faceplate is the plastic piece on the front of your console.
  • Press firmly around the edges of your faceplate to snap it into place (make sure it is flush with the rest of the console). If the faceplate is not on correctly, the disc tray won't close.
  • If you find that the faceplate is the problem, please contact Xbox Support to order a replacement faceplate.
If this does not resolve your issue, please try step 3. Step 3: Press the eject buttonTry closing the disc tray by pressing the eject button. If the disc tray successfully closes, open the tray and insert a disc. Now try opening and closing the tray with a disc in the tray.
Note Make sure that the disc isn't sticky and doesn't have any labels that could prevent the tray from closing.
If your disc drive still will not close, please try step 4. Step 4: Move the disc drive tray
  1. Gently move the tray up and down, and then from side to side.
  2. Press the eject button on your Xbox 360 console. If your disc drive still will not close, you need to have your console repaired.
  3. Step 5: Request a repair If the disc tray still won't close properly, your Xbox 360 console needs to be repaired.

My xbox 360's disc drive not opening

Thank You Luke-7 yes it's jammed ,stuck ,seized,

Common problem ( Stuck Tray)

The reason is the eject motor is either to weak to break open
the magnetic seal created between the spindle and the hub
holding the disk firmly in the drive or there is too much friction
in the gear assembly causing the motor to stall-out

To get the tray to open press the eject wait one second
and then Firmly (HARD) slap the top of your console right
over the CD rom drive this will break the seal and release
tray allowing it to open.

The console should be open ,the Rom drive removed
and open and thoroughly cleaned out .plus I like to gap
the hold down magnetic so the eject motor can release
the tray with less force.

If you have any Questions feel free to ask

Hi,the door for putting disc in wont open.every time i push the button there is noise comn from machine like its trying to open but it cant?

Hello,

This happens to me every now and then.
Here is how you can get around it:

Sometimes, you cannot open the disc tray on your Xbox 360 console by pressing the eject button. Any of the following things may cause this problem:
  • There is a hardware failure that affects the console, the disk drive, or the eject button.
  • A disc is lodged in the mechanism.
  • The clear protective plastic strip that is applied to the front of the tray to protect it during shipping is preventing the disc tray from opening.
To manually eject the disc from the disc tray, follow these steps:
  1. Unplug the power cord from your Xbox console. For more information about how to disconnect the power supply, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 906205 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906205/ ) How to connect and disconnect your Xbox 360 power supply
  2. Position your Xbox 360 console horizontally, as you would position a VCR or a stereo component.
  3. Remove the faceplate from your Xbox console. For more information about how to remove the console faceplate, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 907331 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907331/ ) How to attach or remove the faceplate on your Xbox 360 console
  4. Depending on the kind of disk drive that you have in your Xbox 360 console, you can use one of the following methods. Note In each case, make sure that you align the tool (a paper clip or stiff wire) to pass through another notch behind the hole on the console casing. Collapse this imageExpand this image906935.jpg
    • Method A: Insert a straightened paper clip or other small, stiff wire into the first hole from the left side of the disc tray. To release the disc tray, push the paper clip into the hole to press the manual eject mechanism. The manual eject mechanism is a white lever that is visible behind the console casing. The hole is located about 1.5 inches (approximately 4 centimeters) from the left edge of the disc tray.
    • Method B: Insert a straightened paper clip or other small, stiff wire into the second hole from the left side of the disc tray. Push the paper clip repeatedly into the hole to turn a gear to release the disc tray. The hole is located about 1.5 inches (approximately 4 centimeters) from the left edge of the disc tray.
    • Method C: Insert a straightened paper clip or other small, stiff wire into the hole that is directly under the "X3" logo on the Xbox 360 label on the disc tray to release the disc tray. The hole is located about 1 inch from the right edge of the disc tray.
  5. After you release the disc tray, the tray pops out slightly. You can pull the tray out the rest of the way to remove the disc. Note If you use method A or Method C in step 4, you may have to firmly press the disc eject mechanism to eject the disc tray.
  6. If you determine that a hardware failure has occurred that affects your Xbox console, contact Xbox Customer Support or submit a repair request for your Xbox 360 console.
(Information taken from: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906935)

Hope it helped.
