The screen shows "Camera error

Hey Blu,
Sorry to hear your having problems with your camera. If I am correct, you are using a Kodak Easy Share. This is a common problem with the Easy share series. The error means that the lens is out of alignment. This can be a costly repair, but before I send you off to Kodak. Lets try some unconventional methods of fixing this camera. (The following is not suggested by Kodak, and I cannot be held responsible for damage to your camera.) Lets proceed.

1. Turn on your camera and listen closely to it. (put close to your ear). See if you can hear a slight grinding of the gears within the camera lens. If you can proceed to step 2. 2. Turn the camera off. 3. Turn the camera upside down. 4. Press the power button on and smack the side of the camera with the **** of you palm. 5. If you hit it just in the right spot there has been much success of rearranging the gears within and you will be able to hear the lens move back into place.
I hope those steps will help fix your problem. I know it isn't a common solution but believe me it has had much success with fixing the offset gears in the lens.
If the solution above did not help you. Try these links.

Easy Share P850 lost eyecup

According to Kodak, the rubber eyepiece is not available for purchase, you have to send it to them to get it fixed...I would try to take it to a local camera repair shop and let them do it.

Kodak camera shows me a blank/black screen

You have a bad CCD imager. Find a repair shop that can strip a CCD from a camera with a bad lens. This is the least costly repair.

Kodak EasyShare Z612 Digital Camera Error #803

This problem is frequently due to corroded battery terminals inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the terminals with a soft cloth (heavy corrosion may require a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue left in the camera by the cleaning. Clean the terminals on the batteries in the same manner, and then replace them in the camera. This cures most problems, but if it doesn't work for you, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

It uses a simple Q&A format to diagnose problems and propose solutions.
