Riccar 8500-S not picking up bobbin thread

I have a riccar 8500-S and the needle is not picking up the bobbin thread

I have a riccar computer 6000 (rec6000) and it's not picking up the bobbin
either. I downloaded the manual directly from riccar's website for free and
was able to recheck all my threading and putting in the bobbin just to make
sure I was doing it right.
But no matter what I do, that bobbin thread is not being picked up. I emailed the guy named Ken at the bottom of this screen. Maybe he can
help me...maybe it is a "timing" problem and machine needs to be reset.
My machine is probably about 20 years old, but works as good as a new one if it would only pick up the bobbin. Shirley Goodman

Make sure you have a good needle in and the correct way round, failing that you may need to retime the machine.

I have a Riccar 500FA. The upper thread will not pick up the bobbin thread. I have oiled, cleaned, checked the needle installation, the bobbin installation and the needle is brand new.

needle/hook timing needs adjustment
accredited service agent can fix or any sewing machine service shop should be able to do the job

I have a Riccar 706. I can't get the upper thread to pick up the Bobbin thread. What do I need to do?

Install a brand new needle (confirm it is installed facing the correct direction).

If it still doesn't pick up the bobbin thread, the machine is probably out of time. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

My machineis not pickingup thread underneath not sewing

Install a brand new needle and verify it is installed correctly.

If it is still not picking up the bobbin thread, then most likely the machine is out of time. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

My riccar 1900 won't thread; needle to bobbin

First make sure the bobbin-winding spindle (located on top of your machine) has been pushed back to the left for sewing.
If it is not in the correct position, the needle will not go down and pick-up your bobbin thread.
Next make sure your needle is inserted correctly, with the flat side facing back.
Also, make sure your bobbin is in correctly
the upper tension disks of your machine are threaded correctly.
Make sure the presser foot is up when seating the thread through the upper tension.
Turn the handwheel towards you only and hold the needle thread lightly.
If this doesn't help solve your problem, the machine may have a timing problem.

Riccar stretch 500fa Needle won't pick up thread from bobbin

Check to make sure you are using the correct needle for the machine, that it is a brand-new needle, and that is installed facing the correct direction. Other than that, it's quite possible the machine was knocked out of time and needs service.

Will not pick up bobbin thread

you might check your needle to see if it's damaged
make sure you have a least a 3-4 inch thread tail for top & bobbin
try holding the top thread tail & manually move the handwheel on the right side of the sewing machine to lower the needle to the bobbin area & see if that works.
make sure there is no lint or loose threads in bobbin area

Sewing Machine Singer 4423 timing problem Hi, I got a brand new singer sewing machine 4423 from ebay, it was cheap and bran new on the box... I tried to stitch and it didn't work, I contacted the seller and he told me I need to return it, but returning it means paying 50 euros for shipping. I explained to him that it is not my fault the machine doesn't work and I shouldn't be charged to return a faulty one but he didn't care. He is from USA, I am from Greece, I cannot go to his house and punch him... so I fixed the timing myself, it is easy. BUT the timing gets wrong again within some time of sewing, I have to repeat the whole process or fixing the timing again. I am putting the screws tight, I am scared they will get even more ruined if I keep opening it all the time. I know how to time it correctly, I am fixing it and then after some time, it still loses its timing by itself. I double check that the screws of the gear are tight and they don't "slip" or anything. Effectively it is like I have no machine, I cannot just "hope it will work", a sewing machine of this type is supposed to be like a contract, if it starts failing I need to fix the timing which takes time and it needs to open the case. If I go really slow it might last longer, but I got this machine because it is supposed to be heavy duty with 1100 stitches per minute so I am wasting my time. I am kinda cursed with things like this, usually things never work for my favor and right now I got a machine from an a**hole and although I can fix the timing it gets back to wrong timing again on itself................................. SO does anyone know what could be causing this problem? If the screws are pretty tight, what could cause this thing?
