Question about Proview HX303 30 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

LCD Tv MA-32EF1AC won't turn on

Below is the information from my previous visit. To add to the problem when I got home last weekend the TV was on without any picture or sound and would not turn off using the remote or the main power button. After disconnecting power and reconnecting power the TV came on and worked for a day and is now back to not turning on (hitting power button changes the indicator light from red to blue and back to red) or turning (indicator light is blue and on constantly) on without the picture and will not turn off. At this point I don't think it is the power board. Which board do you think it is.
proview MA-32EF1AC TV won't turn on.
I have a TV that the power LED goes form red to blue when it is turned on and then right back to red again. When I expose the circuit board in the back the power supply board resonates and a low frequency and one of the labeled supply output is a little low. Is it possible that the PS board is bad?
Comment by roboictech, posted on Jan 04, 2008 One of the funny things about this problem is that I disconnected the cable and connected my laptop to it to see if I could get some type of display which I was able to. So I then disconnected the laptop and reconnected the cable and the TV worked again for a couple of days and now is down again. Would you change your opinion with this information or do you still think that is the PS board?

Power Unit might have some symtoms, But I believe cause might be on the main circuit. If power had totally failed It wouldnt give any output. Most of the swithching power units have overload protection. So if there is a component takes high current it stops providing the current. In order to check the power supply you can unplug the connection to main circuit and test with multimeter. For this case a qualified hands on technician's assistance unavoidable. As circuit should be diagnosed what is the cause of the issue. Especially Power Transistors (MOSFETS) should be checked.

Good Luck

Sounds like The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

I am currently house-sitting for a family friend. Watching TV last night, the family pet jumped on me, causing me to hit the knobby button between the menu and reset buttons on a sony universal remote,...

This universal remote (or the TV's original remote) should have an Input button, which allows you to switch the various inputs available on the TV (such as HDMI, composite, over-the-air, cable, etc). You can try hitting Input until you see a picture, but be sure to turn on any devices connected such as set top boxes, DVD players, etc.

Bbc1 bbc2 have been deleted after retune why

When TV channels are moved from one frequency to another frequency that was previously used by a different channel (sorry, but there's no simple way of saying that !) as has happened recently in th UK, some digital TVs and digiboxes struggle to sort the channel list out properly and channels can go missing as you describe.

If your equipment has the option to delete all currently stored channels (normally in the tuning menu options) then do so and then do a full re-tune.
Sometimes, this solves the problem as the equipment is no longer aware of any previous use of a frequency and just loads every channel it finds.

If this doesnt work, or your equipment doesnt have the option, then there is normally the option soemwhere in the menus to retore the item to "factory defaults/configuration". This will clear all previously stored channels and after a full re-tune your missing chanels should be there. However, any other configuration changes you previously made, e.g picture size, output type (RGB/NSCT/etc), etc will be lost and you'll need to set these again.

NB. some regions of the country have lost some channels temporarily now until after the switch over programme completes at the end of 2012. If you visit the Freeview website, this will tell you if your area is affected.
