Screen freezes at menu stage when warm. Works first time but if you stop it or change games it freezes and you cannot do anything, even turning it down does not help. It is only hooked up to my tv.

Try this use your vacuum to suck out any dust that is in machine from front and back. Use compressed air (duster used on electronics) and spray the cd area and back area again, vacuum out. If this doesn\'t help then Call Sony PlayStation for replacement of machine.
it is a problem with the game makers servers if you live in america game works fine, but here in uk freezes all the time. if you try to play a ground war multiplayer is should work.
I seem to have a very similar problem to yours on the 60GB as well. I am curently doing the total reformat but it takes a long time to do it and i have to go to work while it is reformating. So anyway if it works i will let you know. me e mail [email protected]
Unfortantly in your case if you are getting a clicking sound then this means that the hard drive is failing and you will need to replace it.
You can replace it with any standard notebook computer hard drive. The last part in the link below will cover removing the hard drive from your PS3 if you are not sure on how to do this.
That's messed up. Your discs arent scratched or anything right? Maybe the laser is messed up. You might have to send in for a warranty but if you can't you might wanna call sony anyway and ask about it to see if they have any info on it from similar problems that other users have had.
power supply is very easy to replace. if you plan on working on unit you will void all warranty cuz you remove the sticker to get into it. 90 percent sure its the powersupply.
