Brad!

Thanks for accepting the solution to your Linksys. I can't post comments back in the thread, so here will work! First of all, try this link and click on Chapter 3. http://downloads.linksysbycisco.com/downloads/WRT54G-v5_ug.pdf

Follow the directions and plug into the router's WIRED connection. Your network card should obtain a DHCP address in the 192.168.1.x range, where x is greater than 1. Once you log in, it should be easy to go through the manual setup. If you have problems, please take it to my email carl@airpost.net

Thanks!

Carl

Hi!

You need to login to your router's admin page and check the Profile name.

First you need to check the router's address. It is usually the gateway address. If you are using windows, you can easily locate it under the ip settings. Click Start, on the Run dialog box, type CMD.

On the command prompt, just type ipconfig and then hit Enter. Locate the Gateway and then open up a browser. Type the http:// in front of the info you got for the GW. If it asks for a username and password, type admin and leave the password field blank. Unless you have not yet set the authentication settings, you should be able to login.

Check on the Wireless Status or go directly to the wireless settings. You should be able to locate your connection's profile name.

Additional Logon Information required for wireless connection on Windows Vista

Many a times on your Vista wireless computer you might have experienced an error “Additional  Logon Information required” which is related to wireless connection. In such cases you need to manually add the wireless network settings on your Vista computer.

Please note that before you follow these steps please make sure to get information about your network name SSID and the type of security encryption being used on the network. If you are using a NETGEAR router then you can follow the steps as mentioned in the below link to check the required information:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r4095687-check_wireless_security_key_or

Perform the steps below on the concerned Vista computer to manually create a network profile:

1. Click on START menu and click on Control Panel.
2. Click on Classic View in left hand side menu.
2. In the main screen, open up NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER.
3. In the left hand side menu open up MANAGE WIRELESS NETWORKS.
4. Here you will see a list of networks and in that if you see any name in the list then please select the wireless network name and then click remove. Do it for every name that you see in the list.
5. Once the list is empty, click on ADD, and select the second option which is MANUALLY CREATE A NETWORK PROFILE.
6. Type the network name SSID exactly as you have on the wireless router. Please make sure that you have this name in the exact case as you have on the wireless router.
7. Select security type as per the security encryption type you have on your wireless router and enter the required password. Click Next and click close.

Reboot the computer and then check if you can access internet from your wireless connection.

How to unblock profile picture

As long as you are friend with him/her, you can't block tagging. If you block your friend for tagging, you'll not be able to communicate with him/her on Facebook. But you can easily remove the tags so that they'll not show up as your profile pics.

Click on your "profile", and then on the picture shown, now when move your mouse on the picture, you'll see the tagged names. Look on the lists of the tagged name below the picture, you'll see your user name with "Remove tag", click on "remove tag" and you are done. When you get back to your profile, you'll not see that picture again.

If you have problem. let me know, i'll give you another example.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

How to activate gprs

Hi paolojulagay,

Go to the main menu, then select browser, settings , profiles
If you don’t have a profile, or you simply want to add a new one, then press Options, Add New. You’ll be prompted for a profile name, choose anything you like – though I’d recommend naming after the network that you are setting it up for (e.g. O2 WAP).
You can configure your profile by selecting it in the profile list, pressing the Options softkey, then choosing Settings.
Set the bearer (which is the method of connecting to the internet) to be GPRS by choosing the bearer, GPRS menus.
Next, go to the GPRS settings. Fill in the correct APN , User ID and Password for your network.
Finally, back in the profiles menu choose your profile name, press the options softkey and select Activate to make this the one that you’ll be using by default.

Please leave me comment, if you need further assistance

good luck with your fix,,,
have a nice day,,

A VERY HELPFUL RATING IS APPRECIATED,
Thanks
Regards
Arul

We have a new employee. How do I change the name on "image send" to the new employee?

I am assuming you have sharpdesk or network scanner tool installed on the computer you are wanting to send a scan to.
Click on start then programs and look for sharpdesk/network scanner tool and start the NST program. Once it is open/started you should be in the "profiles" tab and there should be some profiles listed (presumably the old employees name). Put a check mark next to the ones you want to delete and click delete. this will remove them from the copiers image send. Then create a new profile (add) with the new employees name and apply the changes. Restart the copier and the employees name should show up.

INTERNET

To be able to browse the internet from your Chocolate, you’ll need to set up an access profile first. This tells the phone how to make the connection to the net, which you’ll probably want to do through GPRS for speed and cost effectiveness (but do check how much your provider will be charging).
Go to the main menu, then select browser , settings , profiles
If you don’t have a profile, or you simply want to add a new one, then press Options, Add New . You’ll be prompted for a profile name, choose anything you like – though I’d recommend naming after the network that you are setting it up for (e.g. O2 WAP)

You can configure your profile by selecting it in the profile list, pressing the Options softkey, then choosing Settings
Set the bearer (which is the method of connecting to the internet) to be GPRS by choosing the bearer, GPRS menus .
Next, go to the GPRS settings. Fill in the correct APN, User ID and Password for your network.
Finally, back in the profiles menu choose your profile name, press the options softkey and select Activate to make this the one that you’ll be using by default.
