If you are using European hinges then then you will need a 25mm forstner bit for your drill. Using a drill press with an adjustable depth stop is recomended.

How do I remove oven door

open the oven door all the way and look down at the hinges. there is a little locking clip that you swing into position that locks the hinge from closing. it might be stiff and need some cleaning depending on how old and dirty your oven is. Also you might have to push down on the oven door to make the hinge open fully to get the locking tabs into place. making shore that the locking clips stay in place and hold open the hinge as you lift the oven door slowly towards its closing position and you will see the whole hinge lift up from inside the oven cabinet and the door will just lift out. be careful not to catch your fingers. make sure the looking tabs stay in place during removal as the hinge is very hard to get back into this position again. re fitting is the reversal making sure that you have pushed the base of the door all the way back into the cabinet and push down on the as to open it to release the tabs.

How do I replace the bottom socket where the door hinge slides in

I assume you mean the hinge that is on the cabinet and not the door? If its the door part that has failed, you will need to get a new door. If its the cabinet hinge, some of these are screwed onto the cabinet from underneath the fridge. Others however, are mounted inside the cabinet and are not really designed for replacement. Ive fixed a few over the years on different brands where the plastic hinge has broken but it can be a bit messy. The cabinet needs to be carefully peeled or bent back on the bottom corner of the fridge to access where the hinge is mounted. Unscrew the hinge and if you are lucky, the Manufacturer has these as a spare part. If not, the only way is to go to a hardware or cabinet parts store to try and source something that will suffice. Do NOT be tempted to put a normal gate or door hinge onto the fridge door and screw it onto the cabinet. Inside the cabinet especially around the edges are whats called "mullion heater" pipes or in older fridges, mullion elements. If you screw through a pipe, you will lose the gas and fridge will be shot. If you screw through an electrical mullion heater, there is a danger of electrocution.

Kitchen cabinet doors pop open

If the hinge is out of alignment, or simply worn out, replacement may be necessary. But, if the problem is the cabinet door (warped, or enlarged screw-mount holes) a new hinge will give you the same issue you have now. A small magnetic catch may resolve your issue with less expense and no alignment needed. It involves a small (1" square) metal plate with a single screw which you attach near the the lower corner that hangs open. The complimentary magnet attaches to the door frame of the cabinet housing (inside the cabinet). Available at even small hardware stores, the catches cost about a buck, install in a minute or 2, and will discretely solve the problem shown in your video.

How do you install an Ikea kitchen cabinet door hinge?

The new Ikea Sektion door hinges mount in 2 holes that are horizontal. The dimensions for the hole placement are 62 mm up from the outside bottom of the cabinet where the bottom edge of the door will be. The first hole is 20 mm in from the front edge and the second hole is 33 mm from the first hole or 53 mm from the front edge. The holes can be drilled with a 3/16" bit to a depth of 9/16". After the holes are drilled, the plastic plugs on the back of the hinge mounting plate are pushed into the holes with the orientation triangle "arrow" stamped on the front of the mounting plate pointing toward the cabinet opening. After the mounting plate is flush with the surface, the two wood screws are tightened in the plastic plugs to expand the plugs and secure the mounting plate. The door hinge mounted to the door is then clipped onto the mounting plate by first engaging the "hooks" near the door end of the hinge then snapping the back end of the hinge into the clip at the rear of the mounting plate. The location of the door once mounted can be adjusted by turning the three screws on the hinge. The front screw moves the door right and left when closed. The center screw (recessed in the hinge) moves the door up and down. The back screw moves the door closer or farther from the cabinet when closed. The hinges "snap" the door closed, so if the door is too close to the cabinet the hinges can't snap it closed and the door remains ajar. The trick is to adjust the inner screw to move the door farther from the cabinet until it snaps closed. The snap can be strong, and the little bumper plastic disks you can stick to the door to soften the bump work to some extent. The best solution is to install one soft-close Utrusta piston per door. The piston clicks onto the hinge and slowly closes the door the last bit without a bang.

Door springs on Fisher & Paykel 920 dishwasher not working at all .How can they be replaced?

Hi - heres the instructions for you - have fun.....

Removal of Cabinet

(Do not use decorative panel to move the machine)

1. Isolate power supply.

2. Remove service and decorative panels (refer Section 6.1).

3. Ease machine forward for all round access. Be careful not to damage floor coverings.

4. Remove two screws from bottom sides of cabinet rear.

5. Remove the top screws on left and right hand sides of the cabinet rear.

7. Remove five screws securing the stainless steel frame to cabinet wrapper at front of machine. These are located behind the sound gasket and service panel.

8. Withdraw the cabinet assembly away from the machine.

Refitting: Refit in reverse manner. Fitting the top centre screw in the cabinet wrapper first, makes fitting the cabinet easier.

6.9 Removal of Door Tension Springs

(Do not use decorative panel to move the machine)

Location: The door tension springs are located either side of the machine and are

fitted to the chassis base and door quadrants by means of the end hooks of

these springs.

After isolating the machine from the power supply:

1. Ease machine forward for all round access.

2. Remove service panel (Refer Section 6.1).

3. Remove two screws in the cabinet wrapper exposed by the Service Panel.

4. Remove the springs from the quadrants and the chassis base using pliers.

Refitting: Refit in reverse manner.

6.10 Removal of Hinge Assemblies

(Do not use decorative panel to move machine)

Location: The hinge assemblies are located either side of the door and retained by means of two rivets on each side to the inner door panel.

After isolating the machine from the power supply:

1. Remove service & decorative panels (refer Section 6.1).

2. Remove outer door panel (refer Section 6.2).

3. Remove cabinet (refer Section 6.7).

4. Remove door tension springs (refer Section 6.8).

5. Remove quadrant grommets.

6. Open door fully and drill out the two rivets from the hinge assembly on inner door panel.

7. Hinge assembly can now be removed from inner door and cabinet.

Note: Hinges should be replaced one at a time. Repeat procedure six and seven for other hinge. Hinge guide quadrants can now be removed by depressing sides and pulling free of slot if need be.

If you change the hinge you will void warranty on the unit. Really just be careful when you open the door.

Broken hinge

Take the scanner lid off by squeezing the plastic hinges inserted into the back of the cabinet.
Take the top hinge of the cartridge door off with the 2 tork screws holding it, using a small screw driver.
Go to a hardware store & pick up a pair of cabinet hinges no more than 2". (You need to buy a pair because they do not come separate)
Place the new cabinet hinge on the back to the right of the bottom hinge of the base cabinet. Mark holes, drill one top, in the door, & 1 bottom cabinet, pilot holes. Check alignment & insert screws.
Tighten the bottom screws. Leave a little slack in the top screws as they have to be a little off set to close completely. You will only need to open this Cartridge door to change cartriges, so, no sweat.
My cost was under $5 for a pair of brass hinges, & my time, about an hour, taking my time.
It's too bad HP won't supply their offset hinges. They are inexpensive & easy to replace.
I've had my unit for exactly 4 years now, so this fix is a lot cheaper than buying a new one. Besides, I have ink already purchased that does not fit new printers.....go figure....
Aloha.

Door

your oven needs two new hinges on the affected door. I have seen this problem many times, the internal stops on the door bend over time and cause the door to not close all the way. They are fairly easy to replace, you just have to split the door open to repalce em. Hope this helps!
