    Thanks for replying

I believe I have a proper wireless connection. Not exactly sure what a WEP network is, using a Wireless G+ MIMO Modem Router. Have three PCs connected.

Have set DHCP to acquire IP address, input MAC address. Input address behind firewall.

Have successfully connected via a cable works fine.

    Still head scratching

  • burgh999 Jan 08, 2008

Sorry if I confused you - yes the wireless worked once I connected to the router

    Thank you

  • burgh999 Jan 08, 2008

Thanks for all the help and assistance.

Am now going to reset the system then start afresh and write down each step.

No doubt I will be back but I thank you in the meantime

  • burgh999 Jan 08, 2008

Why to these people - manufacturers inform you that its a simple task !!!!

  • burgh999 Jan 08, 2008

You have one very happy person here.

Rebooted the radio, then carefully input the information, SSID and WEP then set DHCP to "On". Happily sitting listening to internet radio.

Once again many thanks for your help, find it useful to bounce ideas off somebody else. Unfortunately my husband is not at all computer literate, and he admits it himself.

Again many many thanks for listening and for your quick response.

    Will certainly mention your site

Have you ensured that you have a proper Wireless connection?
Do you have a WEP network?

Please check page 17 here.

You may get a "connection" but not be connected.

You may need to set up your network settings for acquiring IP address.

Let me know if you have completed all of this already!

It is also possible if are in an area with multiple wireless access points, channels may be overlapping. You can change the access points channel, or switch to a wired setup (probably not what you want.) You could try the wire, just to help troubleshoot the problem (eliminate the wireless part as being the problem).

Have successfully connected via a cable works fine.

What do you mean by the comment above? LAN or something else. If LAN ethernet cable, are you saying that Internet Radio worked when you had a LAN hookup?

    Thanks

2 more things to narrow the culprit:

Can or have you done a firmware update for the Denon S-52?

If not, please try this ; Explaned on page 11 of manual.

Are you using VTuner for Internet radio? Explained on page 16 and additionally on page 29.

Have you considered doing a reset of the system, and trying the process over again? Explained on page 28. (Probably not a popular option!)

Wirless networking

The red line through the icon indicates that that network adapter is disabled in the device manager. (You can enable it by right clicking My computer, choose Manage>device manager. But the realtek is used for your ethernet cable connection. The 1394 connections are network adapters used for network connections to printers, etc. probably left over from your work setting, and can be disabled for the moment.
You don't mention what OS you're using, but I'll guess XP, and provide another link for vista just in case....
In any event, it's going to be necessary for you to reconfigure your network connection to the router/gateway you're using at home to connect to your ISP. Here's a general wireless networking troubleshooter, in the event that you've already covered the basics. And here and here are articles/links that will give you more advanced guidance. (Also here.)
But here and here are links to basics: to help you set up and maintain a network in xp, and here's an alternative for vista.
Another excellent resource to help you answer questions and troubleshoot the connection is this site, which has specifics that deal with many common ISPs.
In the end, you may find the easiest thing to do is start at the beginning by setting up a new home network and working through each step to establish a new connection.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Wireless Adaptor Issue

First make sure that your wireless router is set to broadcast (or if you prefer not to broadcast) your SSID (your wireless network name) or that your laptop wireless network connection properties is set-up to "Connect even if this network is not broadcasting".

To check this go to:

Click Start> Connect to>Show all connections>
Right click your Wireless Connection and select properties>
On the Properties box select "Wireless Network" tab >
Go to "Preferred networks" then highlight your SSID (network name)
Click "properties" button check "connect even if this network is not broadcasting". (while youre here check that your "Wireless network key" confgurations are correct).

Make sure that you are also set-up to "Obtain an IP Address automatically " and "Obtain DNS server address automatically"

To check:

Click Start> Connect to>Show all connections>
Right click your Wireless Connection and select properties>
Select "General" and under the heading "This connection uses the following items">
Highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then click "Properties" button

Need to add new laptop computer to home network. Don't have security key for Motorola SBG900 Wireless Surfboard. Can you help me.

it depend upon what operating system you got

Windows Xp

right click on my computer icon the click properties and select tab computer name click change and add the same workgroup name as in the rest of the pcs also note down there IP address range.

Some laptop requires to create wirless access profile prior to connect some will create after we connect.

On your laptop enable the wireless switch and make sure its on down in the system tray (next to the time) you can see wireless icon right click and view wireless network then it will show all the wireless around its range click your connection and press connect if it connects its fine otherwise you have to manually enter the ip address for your new laptop according to your home network ip catergory.

Most of the laptop use their own wireless management software which they disable wireless zero service in windows which you have to take care - one only works at a time.

Further assistance after you try the above and if your unsuccessful please write in brief with model type and os

Tiscali wirless connection issue

Sounds like the router may need a firmware update as the DHCP service is failing to run correctly.

You can however just use a static ip address.
First of all find out the network address in use.
eg. 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.2.1
to find out, - start menu - run - cmd - ok - ipconfig

1. Log on to the client computer as Administrator or as Owner. 2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 3. Click Network and Internet Connections. 4. Click Network Connections. 5. Right-click Wireless Network Connection, and then click Properties. 6. Click the General tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in the This connection uses the following items list, and then click Properties. 7. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, click Obtain an IP address automatically (if it is not already selected), and then click OK.

Note You can also assign a unique static IP address in the range of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254. For example, you can assign the following static IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway:

IP Address 192.168.0.2
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.0.1
