If after putting in the refilled cartridge is still saying that is empty .....just reset it by holding down the on/reset button for about 15 seconds on start ..

I refilled Lexmark ink cartridges 36 black and 37 colored and my lexmark printer 4650 series keeps saying empty cartridges and won't let me print. Can you Help?

36 and 37 can be refilled, but they won't work. They are "return program cartridges" as Lexmark calls them. That actually means that they CAN NOT be refilled. You need to buy 36A or 36XLA and 37A or 37XLA. Those are refillable.
Here is link to Lexmark's site, with a compatibility list.

Hope that helps!

Refill lexmark 37xl ink

I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and we do not refill the Lexmark 36 and 37. The reason is that your printer turns off the electronics on the cartridge when the ink gets low, so you can't reuse the cartridge. Your printer will only function with an electronically functioning cartridge. We NEVER recommend Lexmark printers. They are poorly made, don't accept refills a lot of the time, and across manufacturer their ink costs the most and is designed to clog the cartridge if you don't use it fast enough. We recommend HP printers that take integrated print head cartridges and Canon printers that take tank style cartridges.

I've refilled my black ink cartridge #36 and put it into my Lexmark 5650. My computer will not let me print - not even to "complete a page" print. It says that I need more ink. I have windows vistas. What...

Lexmark 36 and 37 cartridges cannot be refilled. When your ink levels drop below a certain point your printer deactivates the electronics on your cartridge so you cannot refill them. I own a Cartridge World ink refilling shop and I sell Lexmark originals for the 36 and 37 because of this reason. Unfortunately you purchased a machine that you have to buy expensive original ink for. You need to buy Lexmark original 36 and 37 to get your printer to work. As a refiller I never recommend someone buy a Lexmark printer if they ever want to use refills.

I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and I can't refill the Lexmark 36 and 37 cartridges. Your printer deactivates the electronics on this cartridge when the ink levels get low. Your printer needs a black and a color cartridge with functioning electronics to print. I NEVER recommend Lexmark printers. They are poorly made, don't accept refills easily, and have the most expensive ink across manufacturers and it is designed to clog your cartridge unless you use it quickly. If you keep this machine you are stuck buying Lexmark brand ink (the return program cartridges are a little cheaper though).

Purchased 36xlcartridge

If this is a refilled cartridge, most likely the electronics have been turned off on the cartridge. I own a cartridge refilling store and I don't refill the Lexmark 36 or 37 because the printers turn off the electronics on these cartridges when they get empty so they can't be refilled. If this is an original Lexmark cartridge, I think that Lexmark is making their printers so extremely sensitive to refills that they even kick out some original manufacturer cartridges. I have had a couple customers that this has happened to and it seems to happen more frequently with prebate cartridges. I recommend exchanging your cartridge for a new one (Lexmark brand).

My lexmark x6690 wont print after i refilled the cartridges,it tells me the cartridges needs re placement, how can i overide this ?

if you are using cartridges number 36 and 37 (or 14,15/ 23,24/ 28,29/ 41,42), you can only override it by buying new cartridges. But they need to have a letter A after the number, i.e. 36A and 37A- those cartridges can be refilled, the ones you get with the printer can't. They are, as Lexmark calls them, "return program cartridges", which means they can be used only once. "Return program" means you can send them back to Lexmark and they will refill them for you (not sure if that is true, but that's what Lexmark says on their website)

Hope that helps!
