Hi,

To remove the write protect lock, take the memory card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab up to unlock it, it will be at the side of the card like this card is protected. can't unlock it the protect - 59a6de4.jpg .

Release Write Protection

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I had forgotten my mmc password of nokia 6208c.so tell me how to unlock it and fexplorer aslo dosen't support my phone to unlock

I have read so many questions how to unlock password-protected memory card. This happens very frequently to some of us (including me). Usually for security reasons, we protect our memory cards with password. It can be done from Memory Card application by selecting Options ' Set password menu.

For S60 1st and 2nd Phones
What should we do if we forget the password? For S60 1st and some of 2nd phones, such as Nokia 3650, Nokia 6600 and Nokia N-Gage, the password is stored in a plain text file.

  • Firstly, you need to install FExplorer, a free file manager that allows us to browser through S60 file system.
  • Next, launch FExplorer and then browser to c:\system folder. There is a file, called mmcstore.
  • Rename the file to mmcstore.txt and then open it. Your password must be several characters at the end of the file.
For S60 3rd Phones, Nokia N-Series and Nokia E-Series
Unfortunately, there is no way to recover the password in the latest S60 phones. The only way that I know so far is by reformatting the memory card. It can be done from Memory Card application by selecting Options ' Format memory card menu. Of course, you will lose all your data in the memory card... icon_sad.gif
If any of you have experience unlocking password of memory card in latest S60 phones, feel free to share it here.
Compatible devices: S60 1st, 2nd, 3rd Edition, Nokia Nseries, Nokia Eseries.
Update (27-Mar-07): I have written another posting about password-protected memory card on Another Tip for Password-protected Memory Card. This mostly applies to Nokia Eseries.

My memory card is write protected.how to remove it?

Some SD cards have write protect tab on the side but not all do so check for that tab. If it does not have write protect it may be you device you using it with or the memory card as a whole has gone out on you.

1. Check for write protected tab on the sides of the card
2. Check the device (try reformatting it in a card reader)

3. Replace memory stick.

Thanks and please do be considerate when leaveing feedback and ratings today, thanks

Protected feature

There are 2 probable solutions. 1. The images are "protected" by the camera & will show "locked" when you try to erase them. 2. The SD card in the camera is locked. The solution to 1 is to unlock the images in the playback menu. See page 46 of the manual. Note that you need to select "unlock" you can't select protect as they are already protected! Solution 2 is to remove the card from the camera & check the "lock" slider that you can see on the side (although no all cards have this). Set the lock off. You can download the manual from the first link on the following page: http://www.vivitar.com/manuals/english/ViviCam6300/CameraManual.pdf Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!
