Question about Electrical Supplies
It sounds either there is not enough oil in the engine or the low oil sensor is failing when the oil heats up. There are 2 parts to the oil sensor system, ususally it is the CDI that has blown. To test this (assuming the picture on the question is your generator) unhook the yellow wire that comes out of the front of the engine. Start the generator. If it keeps running without it attached then you need to replace the CDI.
We sell the parts if you need them.

Most likely your carb. is gummed up. Drain out any old gas [over one month old] and replace with new. Change the spark plugs. And, add a carbeurator cleaner [ from any autoparts store]. Then start it up and let it run, restart it and let it run, restart it and let it run until it will run for as long as you want it to.

Tips for a great answer:
Hello lynn crisp, thank you for your post!
From what you have explained regarding your Frigidaire dehumidifier it sounds like the sensor or control panel has become faulty. I would recommend resetting your dehumidifier and you can do that by unplugging the power cord for ten minutes. Is your dehumidifier under warranty? If so, you may want to reach out to the manufacturer for a resolution to the problem. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt
