I recently formatted my hard disk and installed windowsxp and the sound card doesn't work anymore, hardware multimedia audio controller has question mark. kindly assist. thanks.

No worries, this is all fixable =] First you need to identify what kind of sound card you have, if it is build into the motherboard, you need to find out what kind of motherboard you have. Once you've done this you can search for "x sound card drivers" replacing x with the sound card you have identified. There are many free websites providing drivers, but it's best to go through your computer's manufacturer. Hope this helps =] If you need help finding the drivers, let us know what your sound card is.

How can i install sound of my computer?

IF you do have the motherboard driver cd that should have been included inn the packag whn you bought the pc then you can find the drivers for the sound on the cd it self, if its onboard sound you are talking about.

-IF its a pci sound card and you do have the driver cd well there u go...

-IF you lost the cd and it is onboard sound then you need to check the model number and the manufacturer name on the board it self and go search for the drivers on the web, th same thing if its a pci card

hope this helped if not send me more info on what board or card and ill go and find you a direct link as to where you can download the drivers

Kind Regards

Sir my computer name is intel (4) cpu windows xp professnol version 2002 i have sound card but i don't know what kind of my sound driver i want a sound driver software who plays in any kind of sound card

This is quite impossible to provide a single universal audio driver for any computer..

No company has created the drivers yet.

You need to check out what is the sound card installed in the computer and go to the manufacturer website and try to download from there

Please advise me which driver should i download & to be installed for my pc's builtin sound card which doesnt existing.. unfortunately i hve no idea about the mother board.

The first things for us to have the right kind of driver, is to know the kind of mother board you are using.
For you know the kind of mother board you are using, is to removed the cover of your system unit. At *********** board there is the name attached to it. If you know the model you are using you can downloard the installer through internet.

Soundcard keeps dying

A couple of things you can try:
  • change PCI slot location id not built-in, is an add-on;
  • ensure the IRQ assigned to the sound card is not shared with any other device(s);
  • check your CMOS/BIOS settings.
  • update your drivers.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

No sound

Sounds to me like you don't have a bi directional sound card.
It could verywell be your USB driver.
try uninstalling the driver. driver and reboot and let the PC plug and play a generic loaded USB driver.
Possible your sound card or chipset does not support the driver.

Make sure you are installing the right drivers to your operating system. If this is an older sound card, goto the manufactures web page and download the updated drivers there.
