That means that your phone has corrupt firmware. Please get the firmware reinstalled from Samsung Service Center. That would remove the virus too which may be the cause of corrupt firmware. And after that install an anti virus software too.
There could be a lot of reasons that would make your phone screen blank.
Maybe the screen is bad, or maybe the flex that connects the phone board and the screen has worn out or maybe your phone virus has made the phone corrupt.
To figure out if it is a virus(corrupt) problem or not. Turn on the phone and use another phone line to call your number, if it rings, then the phone is not corrupt, and the other way round if it does ring.
While the screen is blank and you could still receive a call, then it is either the flex is bad or the screen itself is bad.
To figure out the main fault, I would advice that you take it to a phone expert in your area to diagnose the problem.
this is because the ring tones or screen saver you have chosen may be stored or present in your memory card.... and when you connect your phone to computer via data cable it disconnects memory card from phone..... this can be checked by following method 1.connect your motorola v3i phone with computer via data cable.then go on any category i.e pictures,songs... then select the storage device u will find there only phone memory available no memory card option.this continues till ur phones remains connected... SOLUTION 1.transfer all your selective files in phone memory, then this will not happen. .......hope it will solve ur problem... NAQASH
Solution for Frizzyloo:
The most likely problem is that the connections between the phone and the screen have disconnected or are not connected properly. See if the screen will work if the phone is slid down or half way up etc. Try pushing down on the area around the screen and see if it works then.
Also get it to a repair person if this problem is continual. The problem will not be covered under warranty unless you get it in for under a year and it's worth replacing the connections.
Solution for Zeewon:
Try starting up the phone with out the sim and if it starts fine then your sim needs replacing. Try the same with the memory card. Also check your battery, there should be a sticker around where the contacts are and if it's red then your battery and the back of your phone have been wet. Wipe the back of the inside of the phone then replace the battery.
