Question about HP w1907 LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Monitor (hp w1907)

Connected this new monitor (hp w1907) and it worked fine (without sound at that point). After installed driver from CD it set display at very low and all troubleshooters said to go into display monitors, advanced settings and properties to change default monitor - but can't click properties and can't find name of this monitor to set etc or software to uninstall! Can anyone help? (Yes, it's probably something stupid but driving me mad because causing other problems too now)

Windows Vista/ Windows 7

My monitor will not allow me to even get a menu screen with the computer off. How can I get it reset back to factory settings without accessing the monitors menu? Should I just get a new monitor?

What is wrong with your hp w1907 lcd monitor? It won't allow you to get to the menu screen with the computer off?

The computer must control the monitor and should have a graphics card that supports the different resolutions of the monitor which will be connected to the computer via DVI or VGA.

I think your monitor is fine, unless you cannot get it to work with your computer.

Good luck on getting your monitor to work on your computer.

Hp w1907 monitor does not detect any input and goes into sleep mode. checked wiring and connections -- looks normal. No trouble until today.

try to connect the monitor to another working PC, or to a laptop monitor socket, if it works there... then there is a prblem on you PC display driver or display card inside your PC, try to connect another working monitor to you trouble PC and check if that works.

Monitor Hp w1907 has no input signal, how do I get connected and keep it from going to sleep

If you set the PC to go to sleep after certian amount of time than it will not put out signal to the monitor. You need to go to display properties (right click on the desk top)/screen saver -power/set the display to never turn off.

Settings too low

Right-click on your desktop. You are not going to look for a "monitor" but you're going to be looking for "display properties."
So, after you right click on the desktop, click on the properties and it should show you the resolution in the lower left of the window (assuming you're using XP) Vista and Windows 7 use "personalize"\."
Anyway, assuming the correct video drivers are installed, you can change the resolution within those menu items.

Distorted display/aspect HP w1907

This is a common problem with wide screen format.
The way I overcome this distortion is to open a drawing program and draw a circle, some programs require you to hold down the shift key to produce a perfect circle.
I then go to the Display Settings and adjust the screen resolution to get the best display that fills the screen and that gives me the perfect circle.
If this does not work you may need to download the latest video driver for your graphics card and then adjust the screen resolution..

Need to change setting from 800x600 to 1440x900 on a hp w1907 monitor.

If your using vista right click on the desktop and click personalization--->click on display settings -----> there is a bar for resolution drag it over to 1400x900.

IF your computer cannot display that particular size then your video card probably cannot handle that resolution. Either that or try to download a new driver for your video card to see if the new drivers will support it.

If it was working fine why install additional software? Try booting into safe mode and uninstalling the software or drivers.

HP w1907 monitor driver software will not load

"Access is denied" is the key here. It sounds like your login in windows does not allow you the privileges for that installation. Try logging in as an administrator and re-installing. One thing bothers me though, if this was purchased as a system, why would you need to install drivers? that should have been pre-installed.
