Question about Nintendo Wii Console

1 Answer

Nintendo Wii Daughter has inserted plastic money in Wii. Does anyone know if I can safely remove this. I have already removed some by inserting a disc and some money came out when the disc was ejected. Thanks, Jim.

Well.. i guess some of the money could be inside there the discs plays.. so i doubt there will be problems if you open it.. it will be easy to find.. the problem will be finding the screwdriver that can open the Wii...
i dont remember well if it was the triangle one.. but i know its not a common one..

The Wii will not read my disc

Situation:

The Wii console will not accept game discs or the discs are ejecting immediately

What To Do:

Press the eject button on the front of the console. The console will not accept any discs if there is already a disc inserted, and it is common to forget that a disc was already inserted.
If the system still won't accept discs, or if the discs are immediately ejected, this indicates a problem with the mechanism that pulls the discs into the system and the Wii will need to be repaired. To begin the repair process, click here.

Disc goes half way in but pop back out need to know how to fix it

First, make sure there isn't already a disc in the Wii. Press the eject button and wait a few moments. Next, make sure you are inserting the disc in the proper direction. The "face" of the disc should go the opposite direction of the little rubber feet on the Wii (depending on if you have your Wii lying on it's side or on it's bottom).

The disc will not eject and the wii says to insert a disc

Try holding down the eject button for at least 10 seconds after turning on the console. If that doesn't work (or you've already tried that). Try the following steps.

1. Unplug Wii from power outlet.
2. Plug in Wii again.
3. Press power button.
4. Press Eject button for at least 10 seconds.
5. If the disc doesn't eject try holding down the power button for 10 seconds and then the eject button again.

If that fails then either return the console to exchange for a new one or contact Nintendo consumer support. Info follows:

Nintendo Consumer Service Contact Information:
Telephone: 1-800-255-3700
Email webform: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform...

I wouldn't attempt to manually remove the disc (by trying to disassemble your Wii) as it may void your warranty. It could simply be a faulty console in which case Nintendo should replace it within 2 weeks (according to posts I've read). It seems to be a somewhat common problem.

If holding down the eject button doesn't work, there's really not much else you can do. Sometimes unplugging and replugging does the trick.

I've had problems with discs not ejecting and some combination of the steps I wrote above solved the problem.

It is possible that you inserted the disc incorrectly. That would account for the error message "Unable to read the disc" or "Disc could not be read." But it should've ejected on its own.

Before calling Nintendo Service you can also see if their Support site has any solutions. Try the link provided in the source.

Good luck.

I think my son has put something in the wii as it was working fine but now when i insert a disc it makes a buzzing noise and ejects the disc???

you may need to get a trigram screwdriver to undo the funny screws in the wii and take a look, mine had a piece of paper in it and it sometimes stopped discs coming out.

It won't let me insert a disc and when i press eject its making a clicking noice

You stated that you can't insert a disc. Before, this it was working properly. So from the information that you have giving,it is safe to say that something is jammed in the slots. You may have to manual remove whatever is jammed.

Nintendo Wii

From the official Nintendo website:

"Object inserted into the Disc Slot If an object is inserted into the Disc Slot, it will automatically be pulled in, and it won't be possible to eject it. Do not attempt to open the Wii console or otherwise try to remove the object, as it may result in further damage to the console.
The Wii console will need to be repaired. Because this type of damage is not covered under Nintendo's warranty, there will be a charge for the repair. Please call 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options."
