Seeing vertical lines on the picture

do the lines follow the same vertical pixel width from top to bottom or do they cross pixels? first try going into the menu and select auto-adjust. it just might be out of sync. you can adjust the resolution as well. if nothing changes, you might have a bad dmd (digital micromirror device). if that's the case and the projector is pretty old, replace the projector.

My Optoma HD 200x projector has developed constant evenly-spaced white vertical lines on the image at all times...if it is the motherboard, where can I get a replacement from?

I has his problem with hd200x. Out of warranty so i opened it up, pressed down on the metal plate above the motherboard (left hand side with lens facing away form you) and hey presto, problem solved. been running for hours since with no problems. Might be a loose connection from hanging from a ceiling mount im not sure but its fixed!

Vertical lines showing. it is an Optoma HD70

If the lines present in the menu when displayed this indicates device mounting troubles. Possibly loose in socket. If you change aspect of displayed image do the lines move, if they do, its an electronics problem, if they are constant, and nothing is displayed in the lines. Tighten device in socket, or seek professional service.

VERTICAL WHITE LINES

I just read a post that said tap on the top and the line will go away. I tried it on mine and it worked! I had to tap it fairly hard. I just kept tapping harder and harder on the plastic in front of the buttons and voila! The vertical white line disappeared!

Vertical white line

My EP719 had the same problem. Did it once, briefly, soon after I bought it, then not again until recently, when the line came back more frequently and wider.

The projector was 20 days past warranty, and the company would not honor. So much for customer satisfaction and loyalty. Last piece of Optoma equipment I will ever buy!

Anyway, I found a web item on another model of Optoma projector with the same problem. The solution this guy tried was -- I kid you not -- rapping on the thing. With nothing to lose, I tried this on mine. Tapped lightly on the top and noticed a change in the width of the line. Hmmm ... it was sensitive to this.

Tapped harder. The line got narrower. Rapped pretty hard -- thump! -- and the line disappeared.

Since then I have been running the projector for hours, turning it on and off, letting it cool down, starting it up again. And the line seems to be gone. It may come back, of course, so this gonzo fix may not be permament. But if it works while I'm using it at a presentation, think of the amusement it will cause!
