Sony SPP M920 Hand Set inoperative

Keypad would not change from line one to line two. When line buttons pressed 3's appear in the window. It does not respone to any keypad keys. I replaces the battery and the charge light iliminates but the batter does not charge. I have had trouble with the various keys not activating for some time. Are new parts available, and where?

SOURCE: My Sony SPP-930 cordless phone

The problem is in the main base, the cordless phone is unable to communicate with the base because it has stopped working that is why you are getting the four beeps. It is more cost effective to replace the complete phone system than repair. The only other possibility "and it is long short" unplug the power and the phone line cord from the wall and let it sit at least 30 minutes, this might reset the processor ic and get your system working again.

I have sony spp m920. I have had it for long time and it's really great. My problem is that the lcd on the handset is no longer working (it only shows fragments of numbers, etc.) this is the older model...

If the hardware/physical part is ok, then it must be the battery. Are there any screws to open the handset or a small compartment in the back where batteries may be?

Problem with my handset identifying base phone

I can help you register the handset if it is functional. I am a former Sony Tech.

Hand lotion gets on the keypad and into the back of the rubber keypad. There is a conductive carbon on the back of the keypad to short the circuit board when you press the key. Oil makes it stop working.

Parts are no longer avaliable but you can glue a small piece of alumimum foil on the rubber.

For Register Handset Error email me I will walk you through the steps.

Ringer on Sony SPP-S2730

The main board in the base is bad, I was never able to pinpoint the bad component after changing a few circuit board parts.

I only saw this problem in the 2730.

The only fix I found while at the Sony Service Center was to replace the board.

Radio Shack sells a remote ringer.... You could hook that to the phone line and it would ring... Not the best fix but it would help... Even another phone in another room...

Sorry.... This problem frustrated me.... Wanted to find the fix... The board is expensive if avaliable....

Sony SPP-M920

The numbers have rubber keys and on the back is a dry conductive carbon to short the keys.

To fix, you can try to clean it or glue a small piece of aluminum foil on bottom of the rubber pad. They sell a carbon coating in a small bottle too.
