I would uninstall it and reinstall again. If that doesn't fix it, uninstall it and use Open Office instead. Far better, free open access and easier to use plus fully compatible with any microsoft stuff.

I HAVE A VIDEO WITH AN IVR FILE, I HAVE NO ENGINE FOR IVR FILE, I HAD TRIED DIFFERENT COVERTER BUT NONE OF THEM SUPPORT .IVR FILE. PLEASE ADVICE

.IVR Files are a "Video format developed by RealNetworks for sharing video clips on the Web; may be created by using the "Record" feature in RealPlayer 11 or later; saved in a proprietary format that can only be opened with RealPlayer."

Basically, Real converts these videos to .ivr files so that you don't use other video players except Real to view them, and so you'll pay Real for a subscription to be able to convert the files. If you actually right click on the .ivr files in your Real Library there will be an option saying "Covert Media Format..." and if you click on that it will tell you you have to upgrade to Real Player Plus in order to convert.

There is a work around i found while googling, you can also burn your files to a dvd or video cd and then rip them back to your computer and they'll be in another format. The downside is that this can take more time if you want to convert a whole lot of files and you have to have dvd's and cds at your disposal. but at least it works.

Hope it Helps!

Running script error

Method 1: Disable script debugging loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); If the only sign of a problem is the error message, and Web sites are working, you can probably ignore the error. Also, if the problem only happens on one or two Web pages, it might be a problem with those pages. If you decide to ignore the errors, you can disable script debugging.

Note If this problem occurs on more than one or two sites, do not disable script debugging. Go to method 2 now.

To turn off the Scripting Debugger in Internet Explorer 6, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Disable script debugging check box. and then click OK .
To turn off notification about every script error in Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click to clear the Display a notification about every script error check box, and then click OK.
Method 2: Test a Web page from another user account, another browser, and another computer loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Use another user account, another browser, or another computer to view the Web pages that triggered a script error to determine whether the problem persists. If the script error persists, there may be a problem with the way the Web page is written. You can probably ignore the error and disable script debugging as described in method 1.

If the script error does not occur when you view the Web page from another user account, browser, or computer, the problem may be caused by files or by settings on your computer. Go to method 3 to continue to troubleshoot. Method 3: Verify that Active Scripting, ActiveX, and Java are not being blocked by Internet Explorer loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Active scripting, ActiveX, and Java are all involved in shaping the way information displays on a Web page. If these are blocked on your computer, it may disrupt the display of the Web page. Reset the Internet Explorer security settings to make sure these are not blocked. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.
  4. Click Default Level.
  5. Click OK.
Note ActiveX controls and Java programs are turned off at the High security level in Internet Explorer.

Try to open a Web page where you previously received a scripting error. If you do not receive the error, the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, go to Method 4. Method 4: Remove all the temporary Internet-related files loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Every time that you open a browser to view a Web page, your computer stores a local copy of that Web page in a temporary file. If the size of the temporary Internet files folder becomes too large, some display problems may occur when you open Web pages. Periodically clearing the folder might help resolve the issue.

To remove all the temporary Internet-related files from your computer when you use Internet Explorer 6, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Under Temporary Internet files, click Settings.
  5. Click Delete Files, and then click OK.
  6. Click Delete Cookies, and then click OK.
  7. Under History, click Clear History, and then click Yes.
  8. Click OK.
To remove all the temporary Internet-related files from your computer when you use Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Under Browsing History, click Delete, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  5. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, under Temporary Internet Files, click Delete Files, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  6. Under Cookies, click Delete Cookies, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  7. Under History, click Delete History, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
  8. Click Close, and then click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
Try to open a Web page where you previously received a scripting error. If you do not receive the error, the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, go to method 5. Method 5: Install the latest service pack and software updates for Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7 loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); If you do not have the latest service pack or software upgrades for Internet Explorer 6 or 7, download and install them. They may contain updates that can help resolve the issue.

Windows xp sp3 problem

The most likely cause is that windows explorer is very busy or
has crashed entirely. It may actually refresh the icons if you wait an hour or ten.

One of the most common causes of explorer crashing are large malformed media files (such as downloaded movies) which are inside or below the current directory tree. When you click on a media file or a folder containing media files, Windows explorer scans the entire directory tree for media files in order to generate thumbnails and preview images. This can take a very long time, and if explorer gets stuck on a malformed file, it will totally freeze. Stopping and restarting explorer at that point, as you did, is the only escape, short of re-booting the machine.

In your case, explorer may touch some bad media files during the boot process.

Windows uses two DLL files to do this:
1) SHMEDIA.DLL (ie show media)
2) SHIMGVW.DLL (ie show image view)

You can enable and disable these DLL's on the fly, using:

regsvr32 [/u] dll-name

inside a command script = batch file *.bat

If you disable these DLLs you will not get thumbnails,
but your explorer will brows much faster, including
desktop refresh. (assuming you have media files in the tree)

This may fix your problem.

Explorer could also be waiting for the network or some physical device (could be a bad CD in the CD player)

Another trick is to hold down the control key when you menu start a program from the task manager, this launches DOS command mode with no explorer and bypasses many file locking restrictions.
==================================
Finally,

Can you revert to SP-2 ?

(SP-3 is very recent and probably contains new bugs.)

I don't thing it's practical to troubleshoot the system after a major upgrade, looking through hundreds of thousands of registry entries.

Also, I am not sure that SP-3 is totally desirable, because it installs the complete set of updates, some of which are good for Microsoft and VERY bad for you. For example the latest media players are full of DRM (digital rights management = copy protection), and some the updates, such as WGA (Windows Genuine Advantage) notification are nothing more than spy-ware designed to identify, target and harass people with shady serial numbers. If you like that kind of abuse, you might as well go all the way and get Microsoft Vista.

You may also want to go into explorer options and disable
thumb nails cashing all together. Thumbnails are implemented
very badly in Windows, they are cumulative and contain every image within a directory FOR EVER, even after the original
image is long gone. Like an Elephant, the thumbnail database
always grows and never forgets. (a bit of a privacy risk !!!)

Good luck

I think my video card wont dump its cache

Have you tried un-installing and re-installing the game? EA has posted instructions for doing so on their support website. I've pasted the website link and instructions for doing so below. I've had to un-install and re-install at least six times myself, and have seen exactly the error that you have described occur twice. I hate this game for the crashes that occur regularly. My system plays Crysis fine, with no crashes, but crashes regularly from 2142. I wish that for once and for all EA would fix this game. It is the best battle simulation in the world, IMHO.
