Question about Acer Aspire 3000 Notebook
You need to rule out firstly whether this is a battery or cable problem. If available try using a different lead with the same battery and then a different battery with the same cable. Hopefully it will be a cable problem as this is less costly to replace.

1. Unplug AC adapter. Shutdown
2. Remove battery, Connect AC Adapter
3. Start windows7. Remove Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager , battery
4. Shutdown, Remove AC Adapter, Install battery, Reattach AC Adapter.
5. Power up -
Now Plugged in and Charging.
