Internal microphone not working on Gateway M-6843

First check the settings under Sound Settings of the Realtek HD sound Manager. If everything looks ok and it works with external microphone, then the problem could be Hardware problem which won't be fixed unless the motherboard is replaced.

In the meantime, I would also suggest you to uninstall and re-install the sound driver. By the way, what's the operating system installed on your laptop?.. Hope this helps.

Let me know if you need further help..

Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

before we jump into conclusion that the motherbaord has a problem. try using first the recovery cd provided by the manufacturer. boot your computer from the cd rom and install a clean copy of windows. if same thing happen then you need to send your laptop to the manufacturer for repair if unit is still under warranty. thanks

What driver do i need to get my ethernet to work i have a mt3705 gateway notebook with o/s windows xp

First you need you 10 or 13 digit serial number. The go to the Gateway site that I leined below and find the Ethernet driver,if it has on, and download it.     Make sure that your ethernet is turned on in the BIOS setup screen. Directions to get into the screen are in you manual.(Usually F8 when starting) If you no longer have the manual, download one from the same support website linked below:
