To upgrade from pentium 3 to P4 you have to change alot of the hardware.

You need a NEW P4 Socket mPGA 475 Motherboard.
New DDR RAM
New 478 PIN Processor.

You can use the old CD rom and Hard drive and any other PCI card but You Need the Mentioned Hardware to Upgarde.

Motherboard upgrade for Dell GX150

If the motherboard you have installed accepts a socket 370 processor and you replaced the board, it would also have to be a socket 370 unless you were planning on upgrading the processor also. If you wanted to keep your existing computer case and other hardware, you might want to look for an inexpensive pentium 4 motherbard and processor to replace it instead of the pentium 3 you now have. If you get a new board that uses the same memory that you now have installed it would be a relatively inexpensive upgrade.

Upgrade card

Well, these are the minimum specs for Age of Conan:

OS: Windows Vista/XP
Processor: 3GHz Pentium IV
RAM: 1GB RAM
Video Card: Shader Model 2.0 and 128MB RAM: NVIDIA GeForce 5800 or ATI 9800

These are the specs of your computer (base):

  • Intel Pentium 4 550 (3.4GHz) Processor
  • 1GB PC2-4300 DDR2 Memory
  • Two 74GB WD SerialATA Hard Drives in RAID0 Drive Array
  • 16x DVD+/-R and 48x CD-RW Burner Optical Drives
  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Audio
  • NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Graphics Card with 256MB
Seems to me that you are okay. Would a faster computer be better? Of course. But as you are, the game should play alright. Upgrading to an 8 series Nvidia is worth the change, though.

Memory upgrade

you can use any DDR 180pin. But having two RAM of different speeds may not be compatible sometimes, so upgrade it to 1Gb by just using (1) 1Gb pc3200.
