Question about Yamaha YST-SW320 Subwoofer
I bought a Yamaha YST-SW320 subwoofer along with a Yamaha amplifier, they worked fine for several years, just recently i've been using them to parties etc. The amplifier still works fine to my knowledge, but the subwoofer won't produce any sound. The power lights are on, but no sound. From memory it didn't just cut out when i was using it. Randomly it just didn't work when i went to use it one day. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks James
I too have a yamaha sw-avs 70 it works a few seconds of switching on thensuddenly it goes off en when i de=isconect it from the reciever the reciver works well when i connect it again they both go off some one help mi here because i still want it

I too have amplifier and speakers thatI rent for parties, and sometimes when I connect them they don't work and I battle with them for hours before I find the out that its just a little thing that happened, like speaker wire might have cut inside, or the wire conneted for the CD to Amplifier is bad and son on.
But I will advice that you test your amplifier and woofer, with another equipment independently to be sure if they still working well or not. As this will help you to know what to do next.
May somthing happened to one of them the last time you used it and you did not notice, and it might just need some servicing.

See page E1 regarding placement and safety.
Page 44 - read about "humming".
If you have hum on the sub, is it there with and/or without the input cable attached?
Disconnect the input(s) and see if it hums in the absence of an audio source. A bad audio cable shield or unwisely-routed audio cables will allow entrance of unwanted signals from external power sources, magnetic fields, even dimmer-controlled track lights. Sometimes, simply reversing the orientation of the ac power plug can eliminate humming.
