Hi.

There is no reset circuit.

Parts that must be tested are high limit thermostat and timer board.
The timer board is replaced if it is visibly faulty, or if there is no problem elsewhere.
The high limit located near to the element is tested reading impedance with a multimeter set at Rx1. If there is no continuity , the thermostat must be replaced.

Before testing parts check the lint filter, and ensure that air ducts are clean.

Regards.

Clothes not dry when dryer shuts off

First turn off your breakers, then back on. Next check the wiring at the back of the dryer. You could have wires burned in two. You may next have an element that is burned out. Your relay switch underneath the top could be bad. To check it , bypass it by taping the two wires coming off it together. If it works, then you will know it is the relay .

Clothes not drying

Clothes not drying? Thats it? Does the dryer turn on at all? Does it tumble the clothes but doesn't get warm? If it turns on and tumbles but takes a long time to dry, then your heating element is not working. There is a thermal fuse right before the heating element that will open up if the vent becomes clogged and its gets too hot. The thermal fuse is not resettable and will have to be replaced. If the thermal fuse is o.k. then your heating element could be burned out. These two items almost require an electrical meter to read continuity to check them. Make sure the dryer is unplugged before checking these items.

Heating element not putting out much heat and periodically pops the internal breaker. When it is working, it takes 3 times the normal amount of time to dry a load.

restricted air flow, disconnect vent tube dry a load of clothes. You can use a leaf blower or a shop vacuum to blow out vent tube, Tim

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

DEIX2 does not dry - cleaned out lint trap, disassembled and removed lint from around lint trap assy., still not drying

Check the following areas thoroughly to address this issue.

1. Venting
Make sure the dryer vent hose, as well as the rest of the vent duct, is not clogged.

Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task.

2. Thermostat
There are a couple of cycling thermostats inside the dryer. If one of them breaks down, it might affect the dryer's performance. Replace the defective thermostat.

3. Heating element
A heating element might only be partially burned out, in which case it would still work but will take longer time to dry the clothes. Replace the element if found defective.

Fisher & Paykel DEGX2 Dryer. Need heating element changed?

I had the same problem. Everyone continued to tell me that I needed a new heating element, clean lint trap, etc. However, I took the front off of the dryer and located the heating element. On the front of the heating element, in between two wires, there is a red button. Push the button and you might hear a click that sounds similar to a circuit breaker. It is a reset button for the heating element. Try that and it might help.

Dryer is heating but not get clothes dry...

make sure you have a strong air flow from the dryer it self take hose off and run the unit it should force your hand away if not your dryer is stopped up you will have to take fan casing off and clean (the metal going to hole for vent hose) if you do go outside and make sure you vent outside is opening and free of lint also wash your lint filter with warm soapy water fabric sheets stop them up and cause longer drying time
