Samsung HLT6176S forgets the menu settings when it turns back on

Samsung HLT6176S forgets the menu settings when you turn the TV off and back on. It's still plugged in so why are the settings going back to the defaults every time I turn my TV on?

I have a Samsung HLT6176s and the lamp went out. I bought a new one, then 2 days later the screen faded to black then cycled off and on with no picture. I left it alone for a few minutes then i it turned...

Remove the lamp especially if you heard a high pitched whine/fan like sound or even a grinding noise.

Look where the lamp faces and examine the color wheel (common failure part in these sets) to see if pieces are broken and missing or the wheel is shattered.

If so it can be a do it your self repair as You Tube has video instructions for replacing the wheel in these sets.

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
Check in the menu to demo/sales mode
There is a mode in the menu on some models for the sales floor. It resets the Tv back every ten minutes just in case a customer has messed with the adjustments

Your TV is on display mode!! The problems that you are having I had with my new TV.. Call Samsung or go online to their website and it will tell you exactly how to fix that small problem. As for the blue light, just go to setup and under light effect you will be able to choose when you want the light to come on.. I hope this is helpful...

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.
