Which model/make is the sound card & which OS are you using. If XP remove the sound card and have a close look to read the manufacturers make & download the driver from their website. If Vista the sound card may/will not be Vista compatible since no drivers can be loaded other than those already present in the OS..................sodeep

Acer aspire net book audio is warbled


When trying to isolate and diagnose the specific cause of any computer fault, think back to when the computer was working normally and then list any hardware, software or settings changes between that time and when the fault you are experiencing first appeared.

Sound/Audio problems are often caused by simple settings errors. Before trying anything else, think if you have connected any new device or installed or used any new software on the computer that is Sound/Audio-related (such as a cellphone, an MP3/MP4/MP5 player, a bluetooth device, a microphone, a Voice Over Internet Protocol [VOIP] Headset or multiplexing device, a dial-up modem or dial-up modem based transaction or stock keeping or postal franking device, a multimedia player, a speech recognition program, media playing software, fax/phone software, etc., etc. Any of these sorts of devices or software are capable of changing a computer's default Sound/Audio settings.


Reset the Sound/Audio to the correct default device - start -> control panel -> sounds speech and audio devices/hardware and sounds -> audio -> select main audio on-board chip or sound card from the Playback Device drop down menu or the panel of different device options -> apply -> OK -> restart computer.


Quite often nothing more needs to be done to restore Sound/Audio that was disabled by settings changes or errors.



If none of the above suggestions solves the problem, then the cause might be a possible Sound/Audio Driver conflict, corruption or file deletion issue.
Uninstall all components of the installed Sound/Audio Driver from Add or Remove Programs/ Uninstall a Program or its equivalent in your Operating System - > restart the computer -> reinstall the Sound/Audio Driver from the Drivers and Utilities Installation Disc or download, save (so as to create and keep on the computer the Sound/Audio Driver Setup Files in case of future Sound/Audio Driver problems) and install it from the Support and Download pages of the Acer website -> restart the computer.

I have a acer 1360 and i have encountered a problem with sound, which i never had before, there is no sound from the computer or ear phones, or speakers, can you guide me to fix the problem, thanks

I dont have sound on computer if i try open music files on windamp i get msg bad sound device in device menager multimedia audio controler have yellow solour ?


This is so because you need to install the correct audio drivers for your sound controller. You need to go to the manufacturers website and download and install the latest Audio Driver for your system. Then your sound will work.

if it is a laptop you can get the drivers from the manufacturer's website easy. If it is a home made desktop you can download a driver identification tool or simply open your computer and read the model number off the motherboard. Some computers display this model when you first turn it on. In either case the components or motherboard driver manufacture has the download available on their support site.

There are a few simple things to check first:
• Make sure your computer has a sound card.
You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.
1. NoteIf you think you have a sound card installed but you don’t see it under the Sound, video and game controllers category, expand the Other devices category and check any devices listed there. 3. If there is a yellow question mark next to the name of the sound card, there might be a problem. Right-click the name of the sound card, and then click Properties.
4. Click the General tab, and then look in the Device status box to identify problems with the sound card.

check the sound and audio devices in control panel. under the sound audio devices click hardware> and choose the default devices for audio. or check the device manager. settings>control panel>system>hardware>device manager>sound, video and game controller> if there is a ? (question mark) means there's no driver installed, you can right click the device that has question mark and update driver. or install the driver by knowing first your audio devices.

if you have a installer for your audio device just reinstall it, if not try to download first for a program called Belarc Advisor. this program allows to identify what kind of device you have in your computer, you can download it through this link: http://www.download.com/3001-2001_4-10867615.html after installing it, its normal for a long pauses in the progress bar cauze its profiling. when its done open your web browser and look the category for main circuit board. there you can see what audio device you have. after knowing the model type . your can download it a list of driver in www. driverguide.com. windows key + R = open : devmgmt.msc
Sounds, video and game controlers > (right click) Realtek high definition audio > update driver sofware > browse my computer for driver software > let me pick from a list...> double click on Realtek high definition audio > YES to update driver warning > AND SWEET SOUND IS AUDIBLE :D
