Try going into your bios and setting it to default.
is this a drive that you added? if so the unit is saying there is a problem with the compatiblity of a hardware component.remove anything that you added. try removing the drive so it says hard disk not found
if its not beeping you know there is a problem with the hard disk.
make sure that the jumpers on the drive are in the correct place .

Hard disk not recognised

When a hard drive makes a clicking noise, it is faulty. The clicking noise is the heads swinging back and forth. This hard drive is dead and the data is lost. If you desperately need to recover your data, there are companies that can recover and copy your data from faulty hard drives BUT it will cost you an arm and a leg for their services.

this is a memory module issue. take the the memory module and use pencil eraser and clean the metal strips of your memory module then put it back in to your computer then observe. if same issue will happen, then you have to buy new memory module.

Beeps while driving

Check your speed alarm in your computer. It maybe setup to alarm when going over that speed and it will only do it once during that trip if I remember correctly.

My drive was working fine then suddenly one day when I plugged in it wont work. No sign of rotation or nothing. But when I put my ear near the drive, I hear a faint beep sound. I used Y cable too. But it...

The computer will recognise the interface board that is inside your hard drive case. That is why it recognises the Mass Storage. However, it sounds like the power element of that board, feeding the hard drive, has failed, hence the beep and failure of the drive to run up. If you have a warranty you have a choice:

1. Take to the store and replace, but you will not get back the data.
2. Take the drive to a computer store that deals in data recovery, which will cost you, enabling you to get back what is on the drive. This will then enable you to reclaim a warranty recovery on the drive.

If you have no warranty, then I suggest that you carefully open the case and disconnect the hard drive from the internal board. You can then purchase the relevant USB to hard drive cable, for very little money, which will enable you to access you files. Alternatively you can purchase another hard drive caddy to replace the original housing, These are cheap and found at any computer store or Amazon etc

Hard drive dropped, now not working

The beeping/clicking sound usually means your hard drive isnt far from "death."
You should be backing up all your data and yes, you can find people who get info back from hard drives, but this is very expensive.

If you want to turn off all system beeps (like the ones that go through your computers' internal speaker ):

  1. Go to Start-->Run-->Type Regedit.
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Sound
  3. Edit the key Beep and give it a value of No
This will help you to turn off system beeps.

The clicking sound on the hard drive normally means that the hard drive is on it's way out, but can also be in some cases the power supply. The best way to test this is check the voltage of the power supply with a multi meter. If the voltage is good, then remove the hard drive from the casing and plug it into the PC, depending on the connection IDE or SATA you might need a connector and see if it works normally.

But my guess is that the hard drive is crashing....
