Error code E1:Make sure the presser foot is lowered before sewing.

In order to get this error the foot controller has to be pressed (or the start/stop button was pressed if the foot controller is not connected), and the reverse/reinforcement stitch button needs to be pressed while the presser foot was raised.

The only solution offer by Brother is to lower the presser foot lever before continuing.

This seems a bit simplistic so assuming you tried that already
Check to make sure there is no tangled thread interfering with the take-up lever.

This seems to be a common problem and it may be related to a computer issue rather then a mechanical fault.

In this case you may need to have the machine serviced.
I hope something here helps. I will investigate more and if I discover anything else I will pass it on.

you may need to have the machine serviced.

I have a CS6000 I sewing machine. I cannot get rid of the E1 message no matter what I do. Any suggestions?

The owner's manual most likely lists what the error means. If you still unable to fix it, you may need to take it for service.

In the window then note comes up E1 ERROR . What is this. It does not sew.

Consult the owner's manual. There is usually a list of error codes in the Troubleshooting section that discusses error codes and how to resolve them.

Error Codes differ from brand to brand, so it is best to search for your machine's make, model plus "E1," ie:

I Have a Singer/Futura. While I start to sew the it flashes E1. Don't know what it means. I don't have a booklet.

Go to www.Futura-support.com. You can download a manual there and then you'll have a better chance Since I don't know which Futura model you have, it's hard for me to tell you what the E1 message. means. Find your model on the website and download the appropriate manual. That should give you the answer you need.

Good luck!

Hi i keep getting the E1 error message flash up on the sewing machine, it still sews but it keeps stopping and the E1 error message comes up, what exactly is wrong with it? can you he;lp? Thanks

E1 means that your machine thinks the thread has broken.

There's nothing you can do to fix this: it has to go to an authorised Singer Service Centre for diagnosis and repair. Usually it's a faulty thread sensor.

When I push the pressor foot down my machine flashes E1

Is the presser foot lever up or down? It should be down before you step on the foot controller or use the start/stop button.

E1 Error

If your sewing machine show's the E1 Error, then you have to open your sewing machine and replace the fuse.(you have to open the right Cover on Front where the Display is placed, because there is the circuit board placed!) There are 3 Fuses in the Sewing machine and they are placed at the printed circuit board. It should be the Fuse in the middle. (not those with the wire in it!) It's not easy at all to open the machine, the best thing you can do (if you have a Digicam) take some Pictures of the wiring so it will be much easier to put it back together. I'm NOT an Expert; but a passionate hobbyist. ;) If you are too; just save yourself further trouble with the helpdesk, and fix it yourself. I hope this post could help you!
