Question about Panasonic DMC-TZ4 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Blurry images I purchased about a year ago a new Panasonic DMC-TZ4. And up until this point, I was in love with this camera. However, just recently, sometimes when I turn the camera on, the screen is showing images to be out of focus and blurry. All the settings are correct. Some times it stays like this for hours. Other times, I can turn the camera off and then back on and the blurriness goes away. Twice the camera has frozen and I had to take the battery out. And some times when I turn the camera on it begins to zoom without me touching anything. I have never dropped the camera, nor gotten it wet or damaged. Any suggestions as to how this can be fixed? If so, please email me krgiglio@gmail.com. Thanks!

Sounds like a lens problem. If you've ever let the camera "auto turn-off" as a power-saving measure, any button pushed will turn it back on...even if it's in a case or your pocket. This puts strain on the lens as it tries to come out...result....lens problems.

Lumix pictures blurry

I would suggest that the image stabilizer might not be working right. Could you upload a photo to Flickr or other location where I could look at the EXIF, or list it here. I would like to see what the camera is writing to the image as the settings when the photo was taken.

Does it make a difference when the image stabilizer is on or off?

The filename says TZ4, but it's the manual for both the TZ4 and the TZ5.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4 black - memory card locked

Remove the SD card and slide the lock switch on it to the unlocked position. If it's already there then slide it fully to locked and then fully back again.

If this fails then you need to try another SD card to see whether it's a camera fault. If the camera is at fault then there's nothing more you can do other than to return the camera to Panasonic for repair.

Cracked Screen for a Panasonic DMC-TZ4

Not worth replacing screen, due to labor cost so if camera works, it can still be used for snapping up shots if set on automatic and can be connected to monitor source e.g. gps monitor, portable TV,etc to view pics or change settings. Can try selling cheaply online and use money for new camera.
