Hello there

  1. Unplug your microwave. Although it might seem like no electrical current could possibly be running through your appliance, it could still have stored electrical current somewhere in the system. Be safe rather than sorry and unplug it before you begin.
  2. Step 2 remove the screws that are on the very edge of the back of the microwave on both sides and there are 4 or 6 screws under the bottom of the unit

  3. Step 3 remove the cover usually it will slide out towards the back
  4. You may have to use a small flat tip screwdriver to get it to start to move

  5. Step 4 If you look towards the front on the sides youshould see sonme wires and a circuit board the fuse will be on this board
  6. Remove the bad fuse . Go to your local hardware store and pick up a matching fuse. Make sure you check the model numbers of the fuse as well to be sure you get the right component
  7. . Install the new fuse and than before you put the cover back on test it out it should now work if so put everything back together.
  8. If it dosent you probably have a part on the circuit board that has blown in that caste you may want to bring it to a a repair shop and get a quote on how much it would be to fix it.
  9. Sometimes the repairs can be more than what you paid for the microwave so be carefull here ok?
  10. I hope that this has been very helpful for you
  11. Best regards Michael

Remove the cover. Find the fuse probably on the floor of the machine. Of course, unplug it first.

Get a replacement at your hardware store

remove-ge-spacemaker-800x800.jpgRemove a GE Spacemaker
The GE Spacemaker series of microwave ovens are designed to be installed above an oven range, freeing up counter space in your kitchen. Some of these Spacemaker models are connected to an outside venting system to carry kitchen vapor and odors outside. Other Spacemaker models utilize a ductless system to do this. Removing a GE Spacemaker microwave oven isn't a difficult task, but, because of the size of some of the oven models, it is a two-man operation. Have a question? Things You'll Need

  • Assistant
  • Sharp knife
  • Phillips screwdriver
Instructions
    • 1 Open the cabinet above where the Spacemaker microwave oven is installed. If you see a vent in the cabinet leading to the Spacemaker oven below, your Spacemaker is vented. This vent needs to be disconnected before continuing with removal. Disconnect the vent either by loosening the duct clamps or by cutting the duct tape away with a sharp knife. Pull the vent out of the top of the oven.
    • 2 Have an assistant support the oven from below. Loosen the mounting screws connected to the Spacemaker through the cabinet bottom. Loosen the screws by turning counterclockwise with the Phillips screwdriver.
    • 3 Unplug the Spacemaker from the socket in the cabinet.
    • 4 Continue loosening the screws while your assistant holds the oven in place. Once the screws are removed, have your assistant slowly lower the Spacemaker down by lowering the front face at a 45-degree angle.
    • 5 Feed the power cable for the Spacemaker through the hole in the bottom in the supporting cabinet.
    • 6 Help your assistant slowly pull the Spacemaker forward and out of the mounting brackets on the rear wall. Once the Spacemaker is cleared of the mounting cabinet and rear wall, set it down.
    • 7 Remove the mounting bracket from the rear wall by loosening the screws.

GE Spacemaker Model JVM1631BB002 Microwave does not heat

There is a fuse out or the heating element is bad and they can be replaced, however the price of microwaves it might just be cheaper to buy a new one. I can give you instructions and a site where you can buy it but you have to be careful when replacing them. The reason is if you do not have all the gaskets in place the microwaves could leak out and harm you. Depending on your skill level of taking things apart I could not tell you if it would be cost efficient.

Need installation instructions for otr microwave please

I just pulled my ge spacemaker xl1800 out. The mounting plate installs on the wall and two 4-6 inch bolts go through the cabinet above and into the top-front of the unit. The two top mounting holes are about 8 1/2 in. from the back of the unit and about 1 1/4 in from the side. If you don't have the mounting bracket that comes with the unit, you will have to use a 2x4 or similar to support the back & bottom of the unit.

How to Remove an OTR Microwave from the wall

first you need to take the grill off the front of the micro there should be two screws on the very top of the unit that allow you to take the grill cover off there also should be two screws in the cabinet above the micro that hold the unit in place some models have a silver hook or latch on the left side that you pull forward to release the unit from the back plate do not pull on this till you have taken out the two set screw on top of the cabinet after doing this the micro should come down
